"Highly regarded around these ways for introducing the likes of Ronce on his Dawn Records label - with whom he collaborated on the ‘Aquatics’ LP - and a string of ace compilation cuts, visual artist-turned-producer Hajj renders his most ephemeral yet affective conception of a negative ecstasy in ‘Drag Me Into the Void’. The three tracks reprise the billowing introspection of his 2020 debut for Brothers From Different Mothers , ‘Dédicace À Personne’ with a subtly refined palette and sound design, dematerialising traces elements of late ‘90s trance and up-to-the-second trap into thee gauziest, gently buoyant ambient space.

The trio of tax slot neatly into YOUTH's cross section of contemporary bedroom/living room/imaginary club space with a breezy mutability. ‘Drag Me Into the Void’ appears in subtly alternate mixes, bathing a trance siren vocal refrain in anaesthetising reverb and vapourized traces of emo-rap drums with a sublime sense of deferred gratification on the original, while nipping/tucking to more elusive allure in the ‘Euphoria’s death edit’. In the middle ‘Reverse Catharsis’ augments the syrupy ambient rap aesthetic with more pronounced woodblock percussion hinting at Burial hitting the downstroke, and lit up with killer, trancey hyper-blooz synth plucks. Drag Me Into The Void

Timesaver is Xen Model’s third full length album and second release on the Causal Chain imprint. The 9-track LP stays true to the duo’s eccentric sound while delving into the introspective side of their productions. Club-focused head nodders “Pin Cycle”, “Face Forward”, and “Controller” accompany key tracks like “Arm’s Edge Reach” and “Grip Dial”, which channel the duo’s affinity for ambient music. “A Bright Star” spotlights a catchy guitar hook and features close collaborator 11ai. Xen Model’s signature play on halftime structure is engaged in bass-heavy cuts “Ripstream” and “Local Group”. The album comes to a close with a radio edit of their previously released track “Lurch”, which clusters the duo’s myriad styles and influences in an encapsulating statement of the Xen Model sound.

French record label re.core are set to unveil their seventh release, 'TIME', a collaborative album from production duo Comechelet x ϙue...Our pick  'Rendez-vous' ensnares listeners from the start, uncovering layers of dense, storm-driven drones, intricately woven with a polyphony of dark ambient textures, gradually drawing the listener into a disorienting soundscape. There’s an organic fluidity to the track, as if the sounds are living entities - morphing and shifting whilst maintaining a subtle palpable tension. It inhabits a liminal space, creating a mesmerising ebb and flow between realms, lost in a sea of ubiquity.

Comechelet x ϙue - Rendez-vous [re.core]

TRYCE @3yyccee and Xenia Reaper @xeniareaper collaborate on Dream-Fighter, a limited 7" lathe cut, due for release on Unguarded February 14th.

Drawing from a collection of recordings made throughout 2021, the two producers bring to life a cold, icy two-track single spanning precision-cut breaks, breezy pads and fluttering digital arpeggios, laced together by laser tight impacts.

An EP that was simply made for fun. I started taking my music too seriously (despite facing little to no pressure) and got to a point of not enjoying it. I gave myself no time limit and made whatever sounded "cool" and enjoyable to me. I spliced both old demos and scrapped sounds with new ones, and I this is the most genuine fun I've had making a project thus far.
