Back in the days, two lovers who were living apart had found a way to cope with the distance in their relationship. Every day at the same moment, they would climb to the nearer highest point in their area, and look towards the horizon, as if so, they could see each other.

This episode is about the feeling of waiting for someone loved, as well as about the distance that separates us from that person, either in wide-open or in still architectural spaces. In such spaces, we may experience the distressing feeling that time has stopped.

It’s been more than three weeks since Russia has invaded Ukraine, destroying Ukrainian cities and shattering the lives of millions of people, whose world will never be the same again. The Ukrainian music and culture community is devastated by the shocking crimes of the Russian government. We wish for peace in our country above all, and we are doing everything in our power to support the people of Ukraine.

Right now It is most critical to raise funds for the Ukrainians bravely defending their country, and for those, who had to leave their homes behind. Therefore, Standard Deviation has joined forces with Mystictrax —a Ukrainian label run by Lostlojic, for our most important release: РАЗОМ ЗА УКРАЇНУ / TOGETHER FOR UKRAINE — a compilation by 65 Ukrainian and International artists. All profits from this release will be split between the following charity funds, supporting the people of Ukraine:

- The ‘Return Alive’ Fund, helping at the Ukrainian front
- National Bank of Ukraine Fundraising Account for Humanitarian Assistance

q. pls introduce yourself

a. as Vlady, I work in cybersecurity. In my non-working hours, I perform under aliases ϙue, dj chlorophyll, am co-curating @biorhythmradio, @ickpakyiv, creating bio installations, and recently formed a project «OO0oϙ0O0O00O» with oa. 

As ϙue, I apply multiple psycho-acoustic techniques to embark a listener on an introspective trip, where two of us seek to explore the concept of ego death and delve into the depths of consciousness through deep listening and self-reflection.


q. is there a story behind the mix?

a. For the last 1.5 years, my main pursuit has been presenting contemporary Ukrainian cultural and musical heritage in Europe. This mixtape is a logical continuation of Sasha Very’s https://soundcloud.com/cminuss/sasha-very-present-ukraine. The main motif is Ukrainian artists, who witnessed firsthand the preciousness of life and the woe of death. The major part of sound material gathered here is songs, tracks, and compositions created during the 2022-2023 full-scale invasion.


q. what's the best way to enjoy your mix?

a. Thinking, appreciating, and developing a sense of care about the joy of “simple” things in your life. 

You may not realise how much your like, comment, Bandcamp purchase, an invitation to make an interview, an invitation to your podcast series, or to record a mix can make an immense difference to someone whose survival and “tomorrow” does not come for granted. Here, I mean any Ukrainian who has not crossed the border since February 24, 2022. 

And if this one-hour overview of the musical landscape sparks within you an interest in Ukrainian underground scene, my goal is accomplished.


q. describe a favorite object in your living room...

a. For the last three months, I had to move places five times, so my living room was always shifting :] 

But I always have my 12-centimeter glass sphere with me. Being an optical filter, it serves as a reminder about the delusional nature of our perception and that experiences are limited — words, visions, smells, touch. Hence, I believe one can only trust their mental images (the language we think and dream in). Which I find funny how easily we, myself included, forget about this basic nature of things. So I carry this physical reminder with me.


q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)? 

a. There are some. 

A few weeks ago, after a gentle push from our mutual dear friend Frog of Earth, oa and me formed a sound-art duo «ОО0оϙ0О0О00О». Olenka is a muse to me in mysterious ways which I am yet to understand. We are working on songs, remixes and a body-music performance where our brainwaves and body electricity are processed through synths.  

Earlier in June, there was a debut of the OFF-ICKPA stage in Arkaoda Berlin where I played with other Kiiberboreans (s/o to @ecology141): super inter, TIBSLC, and Andriy Kostyukov — coincidentally, the latter two also have released LR mixes (both are strongly recommended to listen next). I worked a lot on this one and planning the next year’s festival edition. 

And since mid-2022, Kharkiv’s @comechelet and I are working on a collab release by exchanging stems via the web. So far, our first finished work has traveled some internet sites — Noods, HÖR, and 3XL. These days, as I am writing answers to this mini-interview, Comechelet is shooting a music video in southern France for our second single.

With oa, they form the post-ambient duo OO0oϙ0O0O00O; they're also co-curator of ICKPA — Bassiani-backed festival in Kyiv, Berlin, NY, Prague; curator of Biorhythm Radio and co-runner of educational action platform VIRA | dd/mm/yy, which helps mitigate the ongoing ecocide caused by Russia in Ukraine and Europe.

If it appeared right before you, just for a second, would you either walk this fleeting path or let it vanish in a blink, hidden forever beyond the fine lining of your eyelid? Taking the road to nowhere can be tempting, just as the urge to leave everything behind. Paradoxically, embracing the void feels so fulfilling - but isn’t acceptance part of the grief? We’re all searching for our own secret place, where inner peace could finally grow from its embryonic stasis.

Much like that uncertain trail, the present 'Collage' compilation charts a course through the soft, dreamy side of contemporary electronic music. Designed either for the club or a living room, this ethereal patchwork of 14 tracks is woven from silk-like sound design. ambient techno, experimental, IDM, atmospheric dub sonic - each genre highlights in turns ultra-stretched audio spectrums, smooth instrumental lines, introspective reverberations or digital breaks.

After Jonnnah’s ‘The Next Kingdom’ - debut LP published earlier this year, this second release embodies the label’s musical ethos once again: cold yet heartwarming textures, celestial synths and volatile rhythms.

The mixtape, being a step away from OO0oϙ0O0O00O’s usual tendency to use only Ukrainian material, consists this time of modern Sakartvelo and Ukrainian producers. Both members of the duo have their personal sentiment towards Sakartvelo, by tripping the country and running cultural projects, yet the idea of the mixtape comes to spotlight the somewhat mutual path that these two nations have in their more than 1000-year respective histories, up to modern days.

Machine Healing w/biju invites OO0oϙ0O0O00O  [23.05.25]

KLIKERKLUB is happy to release its new V/A Charity Compilation called "HOME/ ДІМ" — on the 24th of August — The Day of Independence of Ukraine. 

The album is a wild, genre-spanning collection of 45 unreleased tracks by exclusively Ukrainian artists. It aims to reflect the colourfulness and diversity of Ukrainian independent music in times of russia's ongoing war against Ukraine.

Many of the songs on the album reflect on the theme of “HOME/ДІМ” on various emotional levels. They deal with feelings of loss, longing, grief, memory, hope or rediscovery.

KLIKERKLUB would be happy if the album radiates something reminiscent of a warm late summer evening spent with loved ones at the edge of a forest, in the carpathianbs, a wheat field, a swimming lake,or by the sea. Where you lie next to each other, hold each other tight, talk about the past and the future, laugh liberatingly, cry, and dance.

Even if only in your thoughts. Because these thoughts are free. No matter where they are thought or under what circumstances.

The album is dedicated to all those who suffer under russian occupation or captivity and to whom these thoughts give support, strength and courage to resist!

I was researching sound frequencies and pre-natal period of an (already) individual's experience of life. This work is cited by the Tomatis Method. In a nutshell, they record the sound of mother and father voices and process it through filters to mimic how the babies hear outside sounds from utero (womb) and let the small patient listen to it once they are born. It helps with attention disorders, calms, and carries our psyche to the pre-natal watery and ever-calm state. 

This soundpiece is an attempt to give everyone listening to it such a state throughout 2021 and beyond.
