Release Info: 
Phobiq drops a melodic techno release from THIS.IS.MARGUS which also features compelling remixes by Mitch de Klein and Kostas Maskalides.

THIS.IS.MARGUS is an Estonian artist from Tallinn whose style fuses melodic synths and driving percussion to create epic tracks with dark atmosphere. An established DJ within the Estonian club scene, THIS.IS.MARGUS recently dropped his debut release via SURO Records and this is his much-anticipated follow-up.

On remix duty, Mitch de Klein is a Dutch artist who is well known for hoisting a show on Holland's prestigious radio station, The Boom Room. His style ranges from slamming techno releases on labels such as Pig&Dan's Elevate and Reinier Zonneveld's Filth on Acid, to his uplifting DJ style that is a fusion of euphoric synths and powerful percussion.

Kostas Maskalides is a Greek artist living in Belgium who has been a regular on Phobiq, but he has also released tracks and remixes on other scene-leading labels including UMEK's 1605 and Spektre's Respekt. Although he is known for his hard-hitting techno tracks, this remix shows off the melodic style he has showcased via labels like Astral Records and Bonzai.

"Visions of Infinity" is the original track on the release and it opens with rattling high-end percussion and sweeping synths layered over a deep bassline rich in sub-bass. Dramatic stabs and the euphoric tones of a spine-tingling melody add tension to its dance floor focused energy.

Mitch de Klein's remix of Visions of Infinity softens the percussion to create more atmosphere with a bigger focus on the synths and melodic flow of the bassline. It's an uplifting rework with an expansive sound that unfolds with tantalising suspense.

Kostas Maskalides'' rework of Visions of Infinity adds poignant vibes with a new lead synth and a reworked bassline that gives the tracks an interstellar sound full of grandeur. It's a spine-tingling remix that will get the hairs on the back of your neck standing up with its emotive melodies.

Produced by my brother Jammin’ Unit, who also signed for re-mastering, and myself as Bizz O.D. in four-on-the-floor matters. 
CUBE 40 was always meant to be “The Ramones of Techno” by repeating the same track idea over and over. Compare with “You Make Me Function” and you’ll get the idea. Cube 40 played only one show ever: 1998 at Berlin’s E-Werk, dressed in ripped jeans and t-shirts, long black hair, and a can of Budwiser in each hand to resemble their Gabba-Gabba-Hey heroes. Jammin’ Unit is not only my brother but one of the most prolific producer of electronic music since the early days of techno. He is one half of legendary electronic supergroup Air Liquide and made his way into history books with tracks like “If The Was No Gravity” and “Revelation” lately featured on Nina Kraviz - Fabric 91 mix. 

“Remore Car Babe” was originally released on clear 10” via Temple Records NYC in 1997 and is now remastered by the man himself for our 2018 ears. Re-issued on 12” black vinyl for more gain and better audio quality. 
In his own words he describes the 4 track e.p. as: “The sound was created for headphone listening during remote car racing. Enhancing the feel of speed and aggressiveness was the goal”.
To me, it feels like a manga comic strip etched on vinyl. No headphone necessary to go on this speed racing trip of ectasy and pounding bliss.
A re-issue I am especially proud of to hear on dance-floors around the globe.

Jimi Tenor & Bizz O.D. met 1989 in a Helsinki club called Berlin. They decided to move to New York City in 1992 to start the band "Public Extacy" which never saw the light of day. A few years later, Jimi had already left NYC but was visiting so the two met to record "Bizz O.D. & Jimi Tenor's Traffic E.P.". Released in 1995 on OZON Records founded by nobody else but Jammin' Unit and Biochip C. Originally a 3 track e.p. but we at Temple Traxx thought that it was the right time to remaster and reissue this acid jewel and add an unreleased bonus track called "Girls". Bizz O.D. & Jimi Tenor's Traffic E.P shows once more that the two artists are real innovators and pioneers of a sound that is hipper than ever in 2020.
