BiBi POP – von Beatighome bis Hip-Hop Town. 60 Jahre Musikgeschichte in meiner Heimatstadt Bietigheim-Bissingen.

Kaum eine Kleinstadt hat in den vergangenen 60 Jahren so viele Bands, Interpreten, Produzenten und Songs hervorgebracht wie Bietigheim - Bissingen. Ob Pop, Rock, Grunge, Jazz, Schlager, Blues, Hip-Hop, Techno, Rap … hier ist für jeden Musikgeschmack etwas dabei. Bands wie PUR und Camouflage, die Rapper Bausa, RIN und Shindy oder ein gewisser Mike S., DJ mit Dance Award Auszeichnung und eigenen Radiosender sind weit über die Grenzen der Stadt bekannt und erfolgreich.
Wie kam es zu diesem ungewöhnlich vielfältigen Musikleben in Bietigheim-Bissingen und an welchen Orten wurde geprobt, gerockt, abgemischt und getanzt?

Evosonic Radio was the world's first independent radio station for electronic music, which could be received via cable and satellite from 1997 to 1999. 
Evosonic Radio did not submit to the conventions of format radio, but gave its music editors and DJs a lot of freedom. 
This concept, unique in Germany, won the "German Dance Award" in the "Best Medium" category in January 2000. Chris-Maico Schmidt aka Mike S., who was responsible for the music played most of the time as program director, accepted this award. 15 years later he founded Evosonic Records. Today, as then, Chris-Maico Schmidt makes sure that the label does not submit to any conventions and that his artists have the freedom that is indispensable for the one same goal: high musical quality - then as now.

As an instructor at VibrA School of DJing, he taught music production with Ableton and DJing from 2004 to 2018. 
He was resident DJ at OZ-Stuttgart, Cave Club-Salzburg. Co-owner of Delirium Record Shop, Stuttgart. He currently lives in Cologne, Germany.
