Mit seinem zweiten Album taucht Mike Opani tief in das kulturelle Erbe seines Vaters ein und widmet sich damit auch der Geschichte seiner Heimatstadt Napoli. Die inspirierende Pracht dieser Stadt, die einst von den Griechen als Neapolis (Neue Stadt) gegründet und später von den Römern erweitert wurde, bildet die Grundlage für sein neues Werk.

„Charon“ zeugt von dem einzigartigen Einfluss dieser beiden großen Zivilisationen.
Mike Opanis Faszination für die griechische und römische Mythologie entfaltet sich in voller Pracht und resultiert in einer leidenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung mit diesen reichen kulturellen Traditionen.

Mit „Charon“ hat er ein bemerkenswertes Kunstwerk geschaffen. Es ist ein musikalischer Schmelztiegel, der die Vielfalt und Faszination für seinen historischen Wurzeln eindrucksvoll zur Geltung bringt.

Mit zwei Shows ist er schon lange auf Evosonic Radio zu hören. Schön, dass er mit seinem zweiten Album nun auch auf Evosonic Records vertreten ist.

For over two decades he was one of the figureheads of the German "Drum & Bass" under his "alter ego" "CATIVO".
Toured across Germany, Europe's major cities such as Porto, Brussels, Ghent, Groningen, Rome, Napoli, Vienna, Salzburg, Linz, Zurich, Prague, Bratislava, Bozen, Innsbruck ect. u. the USA.
Countless club u. Festival gigs paved his way before he devoted himself to his new techno project "MIKE OPANI" 4 years ago and reinvented himself completely.

In den 90er Jahren startetet er als DJ auf diversen Techno Partys um sich dann1997 dem Drum&Bass zu widmen.
Unter dem Pseudonym „CATIVO“ trug er massgeblich zur Entwicklung der Deutschen „Drum&Bass Szene“ bei und gilt heute als einer der Urväter der selbigen.
Bekannt ist er vor allem durch seine arbeiten unter dem Pseudonym „CATIVO“ unter dem er Produktionen für nationale und internationale Labels wie  „Force Inc./Position Chrome“, „Urban Takeover U.K.“, „Freak Rec.“, „Hidden Trax“ und seinem eigenen Label „Assimilate Recordings“ veröffentlicht hat.

Die liebe zum Techno bestand all die Jahre weiterhin. 
2015 entschloss er sich auch wieder im Techno aktiv zu werden.
2016 folgten die ersten Techno Release auf MT- Music/Austria.
2017 Wurde „MARIKA ROSSA“ auf seiner Production aufmerksam und signet umgehend seine Trax für eine E.P. auf ihrem Label „FreshCut“.
2018 startet seine eigene Partyreihe „CONCLUSION“ in Stuttgart.

Evosonic Radio was the world's first independent radio station for electronic music, which could be received via cable and satellite from 1997 to 1999. 
Evosonic Radio did not submit to the conventions of format radio, but gave its music editors and DJs a lot of freedom. 
This concept, unique in Germany, won the "German Dance Award" in the "Best Medium" category in January 2000. Chris-Maico Schmidt aka Mike S., who was responsible for the music played most of the time as program director, accepted this award. 15 years later he founded Evosonic Records. Today, as then, Chris-Maico Schmidt makes sure that the label does not submit to any conventions and that his artists have the freedom that is indispensable for the one same goal: high musical quality - then as now.

As an instructor at VibrA School of DJing, he taught music production with Ableton and DJing from 2004 to 2018. 
He was resident DJ at OZ-Stuttgart, Cave Club-Salzburg. Co-owner of Delirium Record Shop, Stuttgart. He currently lives in Cologne, Germany.
