Playing with tension and release and a restrained but expressive sonic palate that paints a picture without words, these accomplished artists from the Life and Death team bring us to a place that seems to surely exist. Even if we might not be able to pinpoint exactly where that is.

From Another Mind first started as a South German party series but soon evolved into a fully fledged label run by SHDW & Obscure Shape. Now it operates as a label and for the fourth release, they've invited a high-profile techno squadron to remix some of their tracks.

Artists like Rødhåd, Dax J, Konstantin Sibold and Ryan James Ford have all offered up their own high-octane and emotive re-imaginings of the duo's tracks but today we feature Tale of Us & Mind Against's edit.

Their remix of 'Die Weiße Rose' is a piledriving techno behemoth, one suited for dark, dank warehouses. Its synths zap across the forefront while venomous kicks thump away in the background.

It's the sort of demonic, mutant-energy track we've come to expect from both sets of producers and we're fairly certain it's going to explode. Check it out exclusively below.

The twelfth edition of the microcastle podcast welcomes label artist Third Son. The London, UK based producer is coming off his second project for us entitled '2042'. Released last month, the collection was stylistically diverse, featuring five unique and sonically distinctive creations. The project earned play and support from Sasha, Maceo Plex, Stephen Bodzin, Agents of Time, Monkey Safari, Raxon and more; while reaching #1, #2 and #4 in Progressive House, Electronica, Deep House and Techno respectively.

For the twelfth edition of our podcast we've chosen a live set of Third Son's from a recent gig at Watergate, Berlin. Over three magical hours he worked through a flow of rugged beats, deep grooves and poignant melodies; featuring fresh music from Rampa, Guy J, Patrice Baumel, Agents of Time, Toto Chiavetta, Gardens of God, Joakim, Johannes Brecht, HearThug and more, along with unreleased gems and choice cuts from his '2042' EP. Tale Of Us present a new collaboration with Vaal for the sixth release on their Afterlife label. Three years after they teamed up for ‘Concur’ and began to tour together, the trio return with their most anthemic offering yet. Vaal’s hauntingly-beautiful and instantly-recognisable vocals are the centre-piece on ‘Monument’, building on the style of her Wander To Hell EP (AL002). The drums and shimmering synth lines are moody and uplifting in the way Tale Of Us have made their own, arranged perfectly for the psychedelic breakthrough.

On the flip side, ‘The Hangar’ takes a different approach to equally devastating effect. It pumps with added urgency and a thunderous, steely bassline lunges out from the low-end. Designed for large soundsystems and big rooms, ‘The Hangar’ finds Tale Of Us and Vaal at their most direct and it’s something to behold.

Barnt and Stephan Bodzin, two artists whose stand-out performances at recent Afterlife events have made them firm favourites with the crowds, are tapped for the remixes (AL007). They both take on ‘Monument’, Barnt opting for a rolling, percussive direction and Bodzin more ethereal and transportive.
