My work with radio as a decided sound source goes back to 1991. Those who'd like to trace my backstory are kindly invited to visit my blog. transparent-abelard.blogspot.com/2023/01/…eff.html  Radio Art is still not very systematically assesed (thank the gods). Some think they are "radio art" because they work now or once worked at a radio station or program. Radio Art involves both all that and anything and all things alien and other which gets into the stream of what we are calling radiomagnetic spectrum waves. My practice in this field is both scientific and experimental in terms of the sound released. I use several radios and resampling devices out in the open field in the open air. I study atmospheric conditions and monitor space weather. I don't have many friends who can follow what I'm talking about and this fact often makes me gaslight my very own self at times. Be that as it once have maybe been, I feel, through, after, many years of meditatiion in this field that radiosferism is alterity orientation (relatedness to the other) and that it's non-dualist apperceptions concieve the ordinal within irregularities. Radio art in my practice has the task to create a consciousness manifold able to receive many messages simulataneously, akin to a mycelium. There is no soloist in the radio context. Even if I work most often alone.

for amplified soprano, live electronics & organ

A recording made in September 2024 at the Ascension of Our Lord Church, Westmount, Québec, Canada by the dedicatees of this work, Kimberley Lynch (soprano/live electronics) & Adrian Foster (organ) who gave the first performance on 25 July at the Church of St. Andrew & St. Paul, Montréal. The work is a setting of Ernest Dowson's "In Tempore Senectutis" and makes use of various echo & voice duplication effects to convey its moods of dreamy, joyous remembrance and reflection on lost youth, resignation and departure.

Ex Astris – sonic journeys through the aether
Lene Vinje is a Norwegian composer and multi-instrumentalist, mastering synthesizer, guitar, bass, tongue drum and vocals. With a background from acclaimed indie bands such as Sofi Lofi and Izakaya Heartbeat.
Her musical path began in early childhood at a music kindergarten, and a teenage fascination with electronic dance music – sparked by her first dance music program at age 14 – laid the foundation for her lifelong exploration of sound and texture.
After years of performing on guitar and bass, Lene met HMB (composer, vocals, djembe and spiritual inspiration). Together they created the art and music project Protostar7, a collaboration born from a shared vision: to remember that we are all part of the greater whole – the aether. As above, so below; as within, so without. Their goal was to echo sounds from the universe of feelings within.
Protostar7 has now evolved into Ex Astris, an electronic and ambient project that explores the cosmic connection between sound, spirit, and the infinite. Their forthcoming ambient album will be released on Distant Gaze Records, offering listeners an ethereal blend of rhythm and resonance.
