Fresh On The Net is a music blog hosted by Tom Robinson and Team Freshnet, offering independent artists an open door and a level playing field for their music. Our inbox is open at http://freshonthenet.co.uk every Monday to Thursday morning - if you share a track with us there it will be heard by every member of our moderation team.

We are Wives of Farmers (WOF). A band of four; Matt Adkins (bass, keyboards), Jamie Boyd (drums, banjo, guitar, vocals), Jeff Bradley (guitars, drums), Kees Toft (guitar, vocals), and an important guest musician, Helen Weeks (pedal steel, vocals)

We play and practice in a work-in- progress space above Jeff’s workshop. This is a fairly recent arrangement; borrowed rooms, freezing warehouses and tidal cellars were all fair game in the past.

WOF have existed for nearly ten years in multiple incarnations and with several name changes. Our only real desire right from often chaotic beginnings was to just play and play until something good surfaced – It’s still the only way we know. We try to play regularly and always press record. There are 100’s of hours of almost songs, meditations, white noise and protracted nothingness archived.

We are all from different places, but would consider ourselves a band from Cornwall. Maybe you can be the ones to tell us, when you hear the songs, whether geography and circumstance show up in the bones of the material. We struggle to explain or describe our music to people when questioned. So genre ‘non-specific’ sort of fits - and amuses us.

We love to play to an audience, it always feels like a strange bonus when people listen. We’ve had some worthy support slots for the likes of Alternative bands The Sunburned Hand of Man, Zun Zun Egui, Pontiac and the particularly incendiary Monotonix.
