We're beyond exited to host a live mix from House Of Intolerance delivering sonic textures and pressures few before him have been accurately able to capture on record.

House Of Intolerance is the Bass Drone Noise project of the Italian multidisciplinary artist Anthony Arcana. His music is looking into the substance and the material properties of the sound, pushing the boundaries between minimal music and noise.
House Of Intolerance’s first record “All Lost, All Made Equal” will be released on Damien Records in July

For our 905th RA Podcast, we're proud to welcome Goldie, one of the most famous, talented and important electronic music artists of all time. Starting out as a graffiti artist, he eventually made music under the name Rufige Kru, helping push the then-nascent genre of jungle forward with tracks like "Krisp Biscuit (Power)" and "Terminator." The latter was released under the name Metalheads, which would later become the name of his label (with a z instead of an s). Metalheadz—which he cofounded with DJ Storm and the late Kemistry—celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and remains the defining outlet of drum & bass, the genre that grew out of jungle that Goldie helped invent with records like 1995's massive crossover album Timeless (alongside countless other classics). He's a producer, DJ, actor and all-around celebrity, a huge personality in UK electronic music.

Goldie is also RA's guest curator this month, and his tenure starts with this mix. We'll have more to come starting this week—check our editor's letter later today for more information—but for now, here's a survey of drum & bass past and present from a man who helped invent the genre. With plenty of new Metalheadz material plus a healthy dose of older tracks, these two hours lay out the history of Metalheadz, drum & bass and its various subgenres, from twinkling liquid to rumbling techstep. It's the first part of a month celebrating Goldie's legacy, and we can't wait to show you the rest.

The first in EXE-M Series comes from our very own Darlington-born Drum & Bass veteran: Ruckuz,  There's little this guys doesn't know about drum and bass, a one man walking shazam app of the underground. One half of Newcastle's Curves Events, This has seen him playing high-octane drum and bass sets for over ten years, having graced the stages at Turbulence to warm up for  the likes of Pendulum and Goldie, Aaron Spectre, and Jubei during his time. Now settled in Manchester England, Ruckuz has joined the EXE Family and we welcome him here with the first mix slot of the project. 

Ruckuz brings us a powerful mix filled with classic tear-out dnb mixed with technoid wizardry and even a little something harder paying homage to his North England roots.

Checkmate First Move

In just one month Hospitality in the Park returns, where the landmark drum & bass label will take over London’s Finsbury Park for another edition of their mammoth day festival. 

We’re particularly excited about this year’s party - we’re lined up to take part in the proceedings with our very own FABRICLIVE stage. For our Hospitality in the Park debut we’ve invited a string of our cherished FABRICLIVE guests to join us, with Calibre & DRS, My Nu Leng & Dread MC and Critical Soundsystem all set to perform. 

Also making the trip to Finsbury Park with us are FABRICLIVE regulars Blazey Bodynod and Skankandbass. With anticipation building for our first takeover FABRICLIVE x Hospitality festival collaboration, we asked Skankandbass to pull together a selection of drum & bass cuts to showcase what we should expect to hear on 23rd September. reportoire over the last few releases. The Czech producer is musically
exploring the genres that are close to his heart, and after premiering his new
bits to some of his closest allies he decided that it's time for the world to know what he has been up to. Armor EP is a collection of tracks that carefully thread into deeper territories while maintaining the advanced sound design that FS is renown for.

The title track Armor is a work of percussion laden complexity. Taints of industrial and tech sounds are balanced out by daring rhythms and otherworldly FX. Chamber 67 is a somewhat more rugged cut that goes very tech influenced. The Czech producer goes more avant-garde then before and has the clever programming of the advanced sounds in this track to show for. The Cold Man resumes on this path. This track is based around
a futuristic vocal and thumping drums that stay energetic throughout. 
''Threshold'' is maybe the most emotive FS work you've heard before. A meditative female vocal floats on the rolling drum work like a cloud. This showcases a more soulful side to the new palette FS has been exploring on this record. All things come to an end and therefor ''Forget The Past'' has been chosen as the final cut on this record.
Beautifully rich piano textures are the centre of this melancholic piece of Drum & Bass. A breezy atmosphere contradicts the dark tones of the advanced synth bass sounds that serve as the back bone of this release. For avid followers of Forbidden Society. Don't be afraid, the producer is expanding his horizons with music that he has always loved. This doesn't mean that he won't put out records in the sound you are used to in the future. This is just a new side path that completes the musical world of FS' liking.
