With well over 30 years of mixing experience; this genre of mix means the most to me as it includes many tracks from my first few crates of vinyl. For me 1993 signified the end of 4 glorious years of oldskool hardcore and preceded happy hardcore. The tempo was fast, the vocals were screaming and the bass was pounding. Promoters like Fantazia, Universe, Dance Planet, Obsession, Dreamscape and Helter Skelter, not to mention regular club nights across the U.K all led the way…but was this the end…

This is my hardcore mix. There are many like it but this one is mine!

Oldskool Hardcore Rave (10/10) - 12-11-22

Foul Play were formed in 1992 by Northampton based John Morrow & Steve Bradshaw and Milton Keynes based Steve Gurley, and quickly created their own label, Oblivion, to release their own material. These releases attracted attention from legendary label, Moving Shadow, and they were signed in 1993, where they released 8 singles, 1 album & a plethora of top-notch remixes for other well-established artists. Gurley was to leave the outfit, amicably, in 1994 to pursue his own personal challenges, leaving Morrow & Bradshaw to carry on as a duo, until the untimely & tragic death of Bradshaw in 1997.
For the mix, i have taken almost every track on their releases from 1992-1995.

Executive Records was formed in 2004 by Sydney’s Ben Hayes as an outlet for both his own productions and those emerging from a number of talented young Australian artists such as Haze, Weaver, Dover, JTS, S3RL, Antix, Suae, Tom-E, Destiny, Reazn &amp; Implex. Kicking off to an explosive start, Executive Records has already unleashed a series of powerful, soaring efforts and will be covering hardcore in its broadest sense, incorporating uplifting vocal numbers and tough freeform pounders, but always keeping things euphoric and musical.
