The variety of genres and styles behind the music of EXIT project has always been overwhelming. In general, it is a harmonic unity of live improvisations and subtle electronics, vigour and energy of jazz-rock, charm and timbre of IDM, Progressive, Ethnic & World Music. 

Since 2001 the band released 4 albums, and, taking into account single tracks released in various compilation CDs, the overall circulation is now around 500,000 CDs. The first two albums – ‘Live Electricity’ (2002) and ‘Hack the World’ (2005) are mostly electronic arrangements mixed with jazzy guitar solos and intricate vocal passages. The latest ‘Mystery Journey of Girl with her Death’ (2007) develops this trend in depth. However, these are mainly studio work.

In the meantime, since 2003 a parallel direction in the music of EXIT project has been blossoming – a live performance involving renown artists of Russian jazz and avant stage. Critics named the style with a meaningful ART-fusion, recognizing traits of various influences from contemporary classics and jazz to ethno, progressive rock and Drum’n’Bass. The jazzy live performances are full of drive, spontaneity and clubbing groves. The sound, however, is always somehow changing depending on the on-stage crew and the “special guest”.  The band is a welcome at many festivals, concert halls and clubs, as well as radio and TV shows. The jazzy trend has its extreme – a free jazz Personal EXIT – a platform for avant-garde pursuits of the drummer Vladimir ‘BIG’ Glushko.

Another recent trend is an ambient and thoughtful mix of chill-out DJ electronics and ECM style live guitar, tabla and sax improvisations. This Indian-inspired heavenly blend is named Shanti Place. The program is now being recorded and a new release is to come out soon.
