Hey everyone! Not my usual genre for SoundCloud but I've been meaning to put a session together with a nice melodic deep jazz house vibe for a while now. Inspired by the London-based, Slip 'n' Slide label, who knocked out an awesome series of "Jazz in the House" volumes starting back in mid 90's. Still in my vinyl collection today, the series included various work from artists like Master at Work, Joey Negro, Jazzanova to name but a few. Hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as I did pulling it all together.

The Summer season is ripe for The Interns as they return with the third installment of The Interns Present mixtape series, this time reviving the signature soul that pushed their debut tape to over 50,000 plays in it’s 8 month tenure online. It’s the sound that’s come to define their live sets as they’ve rocked pool parties at The Standard DTLA and Hotel Figueroa, respectively, post Spring solstice in 2015. 

With a slot at EDC Las Vegas 2015 now in the books, and a handful of gigs up and down the California coastline, things are just starting to heat up for the boys and they’re not showing any signs of letting up! 

As for ‘Wet Hot Los Angeles Summer’ you can hear the influence of many late nights on the dance floor and long days in the festival circuit. The mix is really an homage to the sounds that inspire them to get up and dance combined with the cult classic movie set to make its return later this year. It’s perfect for those looking for a spicy afternoon soundtrack or some late night fun as it offers some insight to the non-Angeleno’s on how to get after it, Southern California style.

Acid jazz and funk leaders, playful Jamiroquai headed by Jay Kay, a man whose enthusiasm does not fade with years, have played at the Exit Festival 2011.
With nineteen-year-long career and innumerable hits under their belt, it does not come as a surprise to see this dance spectacle mastering the stage and captivating the audience. Apart from the major hit singles, we can expect them to present us with fresh material from their seventh studio album Rock Dust Light Star, released in November 2010.

Gathered back in 1992, Jamiroquai climbed the world stage alongside other British jazz funk and acid jazz artists, Incognito and The Brand New Heavies, soon surpassing them in popularity. Their first single „When You Gonna Learn“ placed them in the eyesight range of Sony agents, who release their first album Emergency on Planet Earth. Bigger popularity comes with the next record, „The Return of the Space Cowboy“, but the world knows about them with „Travelling Without Moving“, in 1996. The major hit "Virtual Insanity" becomes a must for every dancefloor, and Jay Kay famous as one of the favourite acid jazz and pop vocals. Nineteen years after their birth, they are still proving the permanence of their unique expression, through years colored and embellished by electro and purely pop elements. The combination of silky voice and imaginative outfits enabled them to avoid patterns and resulted in a career swarming with hit singles like „Cosmic Girl“, „Love Fool“, „Little L“.

After 25 million sold album copies, a Grammy won in 1997, endless crazy hats and a very successful Belgrade concert, Jay Kay is joining us at Main Stage, hopefully ready to repeat the great show. Their latest album „Rock Dust Light Show“, surely a part of their performance and a joy to many, is going back to Jamiroquai's basic sound, meaning disco funk that lures you to sway and hop. Even though they no longer have anything to prove, they are still reputed as a band who go out of their way to put on a great show, which we know we'll see at Exit Festival, before the sea of fans ready to dance one more time with Peter Pan aka Jay Kay.

"British neo-soul-funk revolution from the late ‘80s that followed acid house - Brand New Heavies, Incognito, James Taylor Quartet, Galliano, Young Disciples and others – didn’t have its superstar, the hero who would explain it and make it important to the young audience uninterested in euphemized quotations of forgotten funky gods. Despite the popularity and even longevity of some of these bands, this whole generation remained within the walls of this scene. This all changed when Jason Jay Kay suddenly climbed the charts in 1993, followed by a band of competent musicians. The original name that referred to the whole band still remained most closely connected to him. Obviously, the time came for messages in pop songs – their debut album "Emergency On Planet Earth", remained sealed as one of the most popular debuts of all time, with its recognizable ecological activism, interwoven is Steve Wonder soul style. Launching along the way now distinguished character Bufallo Man, Jamiroquai made contemporary soul music glittery and acceptable again, especially for those who look for more in a song than a reason to sway. The following album, "The Return Of The Space Cowboy" and "Travelling Without Moving" slowly turned Jamiroquai into sensational global stars that are here to stay. Fast ride and the most expensive cars, a Grammy and "Naked Chef", love and other problems caught media attention for years, but a long list of hit singles that marked the time is what made them truly great pop phenomena. This is why "Rock Dust Light Star" is a long waited venture of the most interesting artist in the millennium soul generation. New disco elements slowly took over, but Jamiroquai discipline them too, successfully talking them into speaking in the name of conscience."
