After launching to great acclaim, The North Quarter returns for chapter two of its journey: Lenzman's 'Earth Tones EP'.

'In My Mind' sees the producer team up with IAMDDB, a Neo Soul singer who is part of a new wave of exciting upcoming artists from Manchester. Her unique voice and disconnection from Drum & Bass gives the two a chance to forge a new direction.

'Earth Tones' sees further collaborations with well-established vocalist Steo on 'Tender Love', and with Metalheadz veteran Jubei on 'Park Hill'. San Franciscan resident and long time collaborator Submorphics joins for 'Bayview', which all come together to give the whole package a beautifully rounded, truly open worldview.

First up we have 'All Yours', and we can assure that you will struggle to find a song that will warm you up more this winter. From the offset, the sonically-rich groove will get you off your seat with its punchy dynamic. Euphoric melodies and arpeggios hit you left, right and centre before Radicall's signature rolling bassline will force your hands up into the air.

When compared to the opener, the accompanying track 'Laidback' is a little bit more...laidback. Radicall as-per-usual explores the boundaries in which Jazz and Soul meet Drum & Bass with some expert sampling. However, if you weren't expecting another powerful rolling bassline, then you were mistaken. In fact, if this song doesn't lead to the production of a bass-face upon your face within 2 minutes, we'll give you your money back (disclaimer: we won't actually).

London-born producer @F-D returns to The North Quarter with his new “Lanta Nights EP”, to be released on June 12th. After his masterful debut album “Better Days” - which transcended genres through a richly detailed palette - he now returns with a more compact piece: all killers, no fillers. Drawing influences from Dub, Hip Hop and Soul and mixing them with his London club roots, his growth as an artist and technician is clearly shown on this diverse but signature sounding 5 track EP. Lanta Nights kicks off with two vocal tracks: the first - Lie To You - is a delicate soulful track featuring Akemi Fox,with the second - The Feeling - a 90’s Hip Hop inspired jam featuring KinKai. The EP then dips into rolling Dub inspired science fiction mayhem for the final three tracks. Essential listening. 

“There isn’t a theme here really, because as an artist I find it important to express myself in a wide range of styles” FD explains. “It’s just me trying to put my own spin on what for me are ‘classic’ Drum & Bass fundamentals, expressing them in a contemporary way. I want to try and retain depth and honesty in my music, something that has been important to me in music since I first got into it.”
