Exclusive: Rubini - Man From The Sea

Venice-Berlin artist Rubini is back with his altogether 6th release on Degustibus, the label which he runs with long time companion Batongo Ditongo, and finally kicks off a remarkably year – in any imaginary way – for the label, for music, for the scene. With the Barbaric Tracks-series the artist, according to himself, leaves his musical comfort zone and combines House music with Folk- and World influences to chivalrously create memorable stories. However, the first EP in the series contains three tracks, Man From The Sea, Silluminami and Jakataqq, who tell the story of a woman wanting to marry a man, who lives in the ocean. The man then comes up from the sea, proposes to the maiden and then the both sink back into the waves, into the sea. With Man From The Sea, not only being the A1 but the intro to the aforementioned story, Rubini created a piece that goes beyond his House music influences and combines more than just Folk- and World music influences but comes in with a lush almost HipHop-ish bass line that, as announced, and enriched with vocals and several pads as well as a short saxophone intermezzo, providing the track and the sea even more deepness. 

Rubini's EP Barbaric Tracks 1 will be released on  Degustibus on July 17th, 2020.

With "Ruler of the Line", SOBEK is heading for a nightly road trip full of puristic groove, retained happiness from the 80s and an almost outrageously thick vibe."Legend From Outer Pace" resembles an acoustic uprising of reactivated analog-slot-machines dancing in sync to the beat of powerful claps towards sunrise. Tyu's remix of "Legend From Outer Pace" perfectly picks up the mania of the original and darkens the basic soul thus gives the track a sparkling rush and additional magic.

SLT026 is a deep, melodic debut from another emerging Liverpool talent, Larmour. 

Alone is synth-led cut that is intersected with warm pads & tight drum production. The track grows across 9 minutes from its core elements into a full-tilt hypnotic wonder-web of emotive layers & sounds. 

Fading follows a similar line of production. Pads, percussion & dazzling synthesisers tie the second track of the EP down as an uplifting dancefloor pumper, with an understated, cool edge. 

Broken beats & tenner sweets is the order of the day for Slipping Away. A super bright cut with one hell of a bassline, all neatly packaged together in Larmour’s trademark sound. Big stuff, and he’s only just getting started.

It’s Indian Summer again and it’s like an unwritten rule to please you with another Atelier release at this beautiful time of the year.
So here we are with a collection of superb re-interpretations of a few tracks taken from the duos debut album “Varsam Court”. Delivering the goods we have no one less than Dutch high flyer’s Tunnelvisions, Lisboa’s LuxFrágil resident Switchdance, Heidelberg’s Lopazz & Casio Casino, Lossless co-head Mathias Schober and Alexander Inggs – one half of Atelier.
No doubt that we’re proud about this line-up and couldn’t be happier with the music we’re going to share with you now – enjoy!

After remixing Tom Bioly's Drop Wet Gorgeous together with Philipp Lauer on Permanent Vacationn, All Is Well returns to the label where his Disco-House-Melo-music found its home in the first place: Drumpoet Community. The Zurich-located platform run by Alex Dallas and Ron Shiller  was it, which signed All Is Well's debut EP Fragments back in 2018 and before and inn the following of its release was strongly supported by several scene's key players. Now the Canadian-based musician releases with LaSalle the follow-up of the aforementioned EP and provides an eagerly waiting crowd with five freshly produced tracks, that musically take the same line. The EP's  eponymous track LaSalle, has the typical All Is Well-note as hypnotic and intriguing yet highly affecting and also effective chords lure the listener into the track's overall vibe and show right away where AIW wants to take his audience: right into a weightlessly fluffy sound-cloud.
