Dutch comrades Esteble are a duo of producers who remain impossible to categorize. The longtime friends and roommates share an innate sense of groove and melody, utilizing a diverse range of influences bred from their true musicianship. Whether jamming acoustically or producing surging electronic arrangements, Joep and Bram have proven their ability to capture the attention of dance music’s tastemakers time and time again.

The Rotterdam-base pair have appeared on behemoths such as Diynamic, Anjunadeep, Stil vor Talent. XYZ fans will be familiar with their eclectic remixes for Hosini and Budakid, as well as their recent work with Behrouz’s Do Not Sit. Esteble’s quality in the studio tells its own story, as the two are able to traverse genre boundaries to create stunning pieces that turn heads across the electronic spectrum. 

As we enter the spring months, albeit under precarious circumstances, we are ecstatic to welcome Esteble to the label in full with their Amazonica EP. The three track project flows along with a aire of calmness that is much needed in these unpredictable times, offering a respite from the craze.

To round out the project, Esteble pick up the pace with Vanuatu. A sturdy kick is complemented with swirling melodies. The progressive arrangement rises from the get-go, culminating in a deep and ominous moment. Brimming with a surging bassline, Vanuatu is most club-oriented of the bunch.

Sweden’s Jonas Rathsman present’s “No Surprise EP”, the follow up to his debut on Mobilee “Draumzer”. 

The smooth and somewhat hypnotic “No Surprise” delivers a percussive depth that will delight dancefloors and listeners alike. The haunting vocal story sets the scene for the rest of the EP, a standout addition to the melodic landscape of 2020.

“Fading Memories” has a refreshing air of late night adventure and party spirit, much needed in these current times. The kind of track you might expect from an artist championed by Pete Tong and who has remixed the likes of Bob Moses, Disclosure, London Grammar, Sam Smith and more; having released on such stalwart labels as Dynamic, KX, Crosstown Rebels and his own ELEMENTS.

It’s not hard to imagine that “Uno” comes direct from his Gothenburg studio complex built using mostly repurposed wood from the forest, which was featured by Fact Magazine and DJ Mag. It invokes a sense of connection and deeper meaning, a sensuous soundscape reminiscent of the light through trees; bringing the EP to a special close.

Jonas Rathsman - Fading Memories

'Allies For Everyone is back on Motek with ‘Who Are You Tonight’. Listeners of Allies For Everyone’s music will be accustomed to his deep and crisp production underlaying smooth and sultry self sung vocals, and this single delivers on all fronts. The track rolls effortlessly over a lightly chugging baseline with soft pads laying a background for guitar and pan flute textures to be picked out. Reverbs and delays on the key instruments provide atmosphere and depth while well placed percussive parts add to the punch and groove of the piece. The production is finished off with vocal effects and textures which underpin the main vocal.

We are excited to welcome Dansor back on remix duty along with newcomers to the label Baime. Motek’s own Delfin and Navitas bring a breaks flavour to complete the line up.

After an atmosphere building instrumental, Dansor has ramped up the original to the peak hour. Faster moving parts within the beats section and stab synth 16th notes give the track this quicker feel while the arpeggiating lead drives the melodic overview of this remix. At times jarring synth play brings tension and release into a mix that manages to expertly blend warmth and punch.

Baime take their version from the deep and driving, to the hands in the air. An almost middle eastern feel is given which is driven by the fantastic use of percussive drum and conga textures, tambourine shakers and choice of instrumentation in the statement making lead synths. The track develops carefully and creatively to its full crescendo in the last couple on minutes with a masterclass in arrangement.

Finally Delfin and Navitas have gone for a full on breaks feel with their remix. Punchy beats sections and dubby bass elements make this track all about the groove. Energy is sucked out and gradually built back in the musical sections to create balance between the harder hitting and softer atmospheric. Stabs, and effects add interest and surprise in a remix that will unashamedly keep you moving.'
