Polish label Exotic Refreshment has been doing its independent thing since 2007, releasing high quality house and techno music that gets spun by the likes of Sasha and Tensnake. Now they look to young Italian-Venezuelan talent Ricardo Baez for two new tracks that come with expert remixes by Edgar Peng, Fragile Signal and David Jach. 

Inspired by Chicago house and Detroit techno, Baez debuted in 2012 and has gone on to impress with releases on Toy Tonics, as well as holding down his high profile residency at Tropical Animals.

‘Butoh’ opens the EP in steely, nervy fashion with skittish synths scurrying over rooted house drums. There’s a shiny progressive like vibe to the synths that really suck you in and give off the air of flying through the cosmos whilst a heavenly vocal cry only adds fuel to the fire. Remixer David Jach is a someone who often has tracks in the Beatport Top 20, as well as having done an electronic concert with members of a philharmonic orchestra. His version of ‘Butoh’ is a stripped back and bumpy deep house cut with subtle vocals used as a repetitive hook. Chord stabs add warmth but this one is all about lo-key, high impact grooviness. An instrumental mix comes as a digital bonus.

The other original is ‘I Need You’, a soft edged and supple roller with rubbery synths and rounded drums. The sound of footsteps adds intrigue to the groove and when the bassline drops again amongst the sound of rainy melodies, you really get swept up. 

Berlin based Edgar Peng then turns out a deep and atmospheric remix that has whispered vocals, smeared, soulful chords and oodles of late night charm. Buy the EP digitally and you’ll also get treated to a more kinetic and upright tech house re-rub by Fragile Signal. 

Every mood and dance floor is catered for with this excellent new EP from one of Poland’s best labels.

The swedish duo Bambook consisting of Eiad Sayegh and Hannes Netzell was surely one of last years whizzkids of the deep house genre.

Just over a year old now the duo have captured a unique signature sound: set to expressing a distinctive mood by working with acclaimed singers, classic house percussions, and emphatic baselines that triggers the right buttons. As summer season has begun to loom early this May, it’s with great pleasure that we accompany your sunny days to come with our sixth release on Délicieuse Records, marking the start of our newest collaboration with Colognian : Parra for Cuva.

Today’s headliner was quick to steal our hearts, as we fell hard four months ago for his title 'Swept Away' made in collaboration with his friend Mr. Gramo.

The two buddies were once students at the Hochschule der populären Künste (University of Fine Arts) in central Berlin where they studied sound design amongst many Berlin newcomers of the current scene such as Egokind, Marlon Hoffstadt, and 4nton.

This EP is to be fully savoured in 3 parts …

We first soothe our way into the delicious world of Parra for Cuva with their piece 'Fading Nights' seducing you with a hypnotizing beat, making way into a magical moment between Nicolas and Anna Naklab, as his faithful sidekick’s vocals exuberate powerful emotion, yet still maintaining a lightness. Let your mind adrift as a thrilling sensation takes over…

Enter a state of release as the EP adjoins under the title 'Small Flowerd', a track which oozes of mind blowing sensuality. The duo creates a natural ease and is sure to fulfil your devastating hunger. A melodious air overwhelms, sending us further into the depths of our imagination.

It’s a journey, a haute couture production which comes to an end with the mastered version of their forerunner title 'Swept Away', once again enhanced by Anna’s sublime vocals, skilfully accompanying a punchy and exhilarating melody. A piece with returning synths and ethereal arpeggios affirming their undeniable loyalty to the style of “Deep Pop”, a main reason for teaming up with our German counterparts.
