Expedition Radio 2019 Shows

This was a project I originally released in 2002 via as many bootleg CDs as I could print at home. On the inside of the jewel case, I wrote the following blurb below which also included a review from a national mag. 

Now over 20 years later, I'm incredibly proud of how well it's aged, the complements I've received over the years, and to my surprise, continue to receive. I'm as proud of this as the day I put it out. I hope it's a reminder to you that meticulous and careful curation still matters and that there's some music & sounds, even from this recent era of music that are truly timeless.

"This mixtape is quite possibly the most flawless mix of Hip Hop and soul I have ever heard. It's basically a collection of songs that pair a bunch of ill emcees on jazzy, soulful tracks with R&B singers that can actually sing.

It's hardcore Hip Hop with a jazz flavor, so while the lyrics are heavy, the beats and singing are so melodic that it's actually pleasant to listen to. Another great thing about the careful selection of songs by idea is that damn near every song is mad inspirational without being corny" - Rime Magazine

Comments: ALLHITS®, the Original Celebrated Curiously Hot Organic Hip Hop Hits®, is a specially arranged compilation of Hip Hop songs many times hotter than today's ordinary commercial music. The recipe for this sound is derived from the generous use of phat beats, complex lyrics and real MCs developed by true Hip Hop heads, b-boys & MCs during the late 1980's. This era, which is often referred to as the "Golden Age of Hip Hop", was characterized by a style, content, and consciousness rarely exhibited in today's shallow, materialistic, and relatively uncreative mainstream rap music.

Despite the over-commercialization and saturation of rap music in a market driven by fickle teen dollars, there are still some artists who have managed to maintain the integrity, credibility and tradition of this bygone era. Most of these same performers come from a musical lineage that can be traced back to many of the early Hip Hop pioneers. Here we present to you a sampling of some of the best and the brightest talent that Hip Hop has to offer, blazing a trail back to a time when it was all simply about the music.

This will be our last "live" show for the next few weeks. Our broadcast partner Dash Radio in the US where we record is moving to a new facility in Hollywood. Their current studios are closing late September and they anticipate they'll be down for 4-6 weeks while the move takes place to the new location

In the meantime, we'll be continuing to bring you some 'music only podcast shows' so we can continue to keep you in the loop, however, you'll just be missing our music discussion on the breaks. As soon as the new Dash studios open we'll get back to recording new shows in studio and you'll be hearing our angelic voices again!
