The latest compilation album in COD3 QR's "Artist Cod3" series is, as always, focused on eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity.  The usual wide range of electronic music is featured with Drum & Bass don Calibre opening up the release with Dub, followed by Techno from Seroplexx and Costello, a more Detroit style vibe from Jim Rivers, Deep House from Subground_3000, while Marcellus, and Melatron & Ancient Artefacts complete the vinyl package with Leftfield beats.   

Bonus digital tracks come from Subground_3000 once more, plus some melodious Techno from Oliver Way & Dany Rodriguez.

All the tracks have been handpicked by Laurent Garnier and Scan X.

COD3 QR wants to remain free of all expectations and all prejudices because only one thing counts: the music, The Music, THE MUSIC in every shape and form!

NDATL rounds out the year with a release from South African producer June Jazzin'. The EP starts off with warm & mellow sound of Funky Monkey ft sparse keys from Oliver Portal. Gogo's Stove Smoke is the signal that things are getting deep! On the B Side we start off with the gem Valerie shufflin beats laced with a grand piano that will get the dancers swinging. June wraps up the EP with Harming Man a bouncy groove interlaced with syth stabs & rolls from the Rhodes. This EP will definitely be welcomed addition to any deep house connoisseur's collection

Justin Drake and Clive Henry, recognised as the legendary Peace Division, stood out as one of the UK's most successful tribal/tech house production duos from the late 90s to the mid-00s. Their contributions extended to renowned British labels such as NRK and Junior London, as well as releases with Hooj, Crosstown Rebels, and major label remixes.

Lesser-known but equally intriguing was their venture into a different musical realm under the alias Soul Purpose. Shifting towards a deeper shade of house, Soul Purpose featured tracks characterised by lush chords and rolling basslines, placing a strong emphasis on the soulful elements.

Originally released on Low Pressing Limited, an offshoot label of Clive Henry and Rocky (X-Press 2) iconic Low Pressing, the four Soul Purpose titles emerged between 1997 and 1998. Despite being somewhat under the radar, these tracks gained recognition among DJs in the know. Now, the Selected Works release, compiled from the original DAT tapes and fully remastered, reunites the entire Soul Purpose catalogue for the first time in 27 years since their initial release.

When it comes to the underground of electronic music, there's not much Kirk Degiorgio hasn't seen or done. 30+ years in the game, Degiorgio has more than made his mark on the scene’s landscape, both as an esteemed DJ and also as an acclaimed producer with releases on the likes of Versatile Records, Ubiquityand B12. Cyphon Recordings draft in this true master of the craft for a three-track journey showcasing exactly why he's sustained the level he has for so long. A melodic richness and tactile makeup, whereby Kirk’s tracks more than move your limbs, but rather meld directly to your heart.
 
First up, a slice of soul-struck, deep house in the form of ‘All About U’. Poised yet powerful, iridescent arps layer upon sweeping pads and a bassline that locks you in from the off. Degiorgio holds the vocal refrain in the back pocket, letting it loose once he’s wrapped you up in the groove. 'Cidade Do Futuro' follows, a cosmic carnival, enticing dancers from the deep. Dynamic snare rolls marry with rising synths in mystical fashion, as Latin percussion molds around an acid-tinged bass. Together they create a tension that builds and breaks, rising to its next summit before descending once again into outer space.  Closing out the EP is‘Frayed Edge’. Sitting at the intersection between prog-leaning breakbeat and Detroit-flavoured techno, this grooved-laden, lunar transmission is one for late-night dancefloor lovers. 
 
In a sea of sterile, over produced new music, the ‘Living On The Frayed Edge EP’ stands out as a beacon of dynamism and versatility, showcasing Degiorgio’s inherent knack in being able to craft songs that speak of something deeper than simply dancing.
