I'm almost back...
After the death of a loved one, I found myself unable to play music... so I opened a small attic room deep in my unbalanced mind and played other types of instruments... it had to happen...
So here's a track, "ATTIC ROOM" (37 minutes), composed and produced, bringing together 10 very different and surprising tracks... I feel like I was in another dimension for a while, and I hope you enjoy it.

Me voici presque de retour...
Après le décès de l'un de mes proches, je me suis retrouvé dans l'incapacité de jouer de la musique... alors j'ai ouvert une petite chambre mansardée tout au fond de mon esprit en déséquilibre et j'ai joué sur d'autres types d'instruments... il fallait que cela se réalise...
Voici donc un titre "ATTIC ROOM" (37minutes) composé et réalisé rassemblant 10 titres tellement différents et surprenants... je pense avoir été dans une autre dimension pendant un certain temps et j'espère que vous allez apprécier.

A trans-lunar injection is a maneuver designed to send a spacecraft to the Moon. Its first use in a manned mission enabled Apollo 8 to reach Earth's satellite in December 1968.

(A modest track dedicated to Jim Lovell, who passed away on August 7th, 2025, a crew member of four space missions including Apollo 8).

Trans-Lunar Injection [travel stories]

August 2025 Currently on residency in Italy !
These are the 2nd batch of 3 short sketches using field recordings captured around Montegiovi, Tuscany. With these little works I am experimenting freely with what can be produced from each days sounds - manipulating them and stitching them back together with the aim of producing a long format work at the end of the residency. I have done a dozen or so since arriving a fortnight ago but not sharing them all (some are pretty rubbish). The idea is to have them done by the end of the day (or night) then move on to something fresh the next day. 
I am truly thankful for this opportunity that has been provided for me by the Salamanca Arts Centre in Tasmania and Cultivate Projects/La Baldi residency in Italy and The USA.
And of course the wonderful people of Montegiovi !

Tuscany Experiments 4- 6

First upload off a new album, "Verde," much of which was written about a year ago while traveling in Africa's westernmost country, Cabo Verde.

A little bit of a different flavor of Texas Tea collaboration for me and Stephen, @texmex-shaman ... this is the first time I sent him something that had guitar from me already in it. If you listen carefully my guitar parts are the very simple repeated 4 measure loops that kind of stack up on top of each other, mostly background elements. Stephen added some crazy cool low end atmospherics as well as some distorted wailing guitars on the higher end and of course the awesome meandering lead part that ebbs and flows through this piece. I created the beat and all the synth elements.

After sending his parts back to me, Stephen mentioned it kinda gave him a David Lynch vibe. Turns out we are both huge fans of Twin Peaks and pretty much all of this great artist's work, so had to tip our hats to him, but maybe only other fans will catch the references in the title and cover art.

Description:
Feeding time, my morning ritual, my cat Pixel gets feed before any thing else, no peace otherwise. A meow, saying feed me. Recording Pixel's feeding requests, me getting my breakfast ready (coffee cup rattles, coffee machine) and the after breakfast sounds of my son, Zachary Freund, on his scooter, doing a tail whip on a rather resonant steel bollard, all to be feed into my granular synthesiser, Granie.

A mix of granular synthesis and various other instruments: my voice, Soma Enner, Soma Pipe, Soma COSMOS. Tuning of the synthesisers was largely improvised, no particular system in mind, just choices which I thought suited the mood at the time.

Five field recordings were used for the granular synthesis:
1: Pixel's feed me requests
2: Pixel getting seconds
3: Pixel's human minder getting breakfast ready
4: Coffee machine sounds
5: Scooter and bollard sounds

Track 1, "Feed Me"
Granie granular synthesiser featuring Pixel's meow.
Soma Enner.
Soma COSMOS, Rhythmic #6 mode, dynamic use of blur and drift parameters.
Granie tuning done prior to performance, all five grain buffers had their own tuning.

Track 2, "Coffee
Granie granular synthesised sounds, Soma Enner, Soma COSMOS. As the title suggests, this featured the coffee making sounds.

Track 3, "Scooter"
Granie granular synthesised sounds, featuring the scooter hitting the steel pipe. The clinking of coffee cups provided the percussion. The dual delay+feedback network of the Granie was experimented with here, modulating delay times and gain feedback. The ringing sound of the steel pipe, providing an ostinato, setting the mood.

Track 4, "Passing Through"
Granie synthesiser sounds, Soma Enner, Soma COSMOS.

The underlying theme here was a flickering sound reminiscent of old super 8 movie projector, which was done here through granular synthesis of the coffee cup sounds.

The lead part was played with the Soma Enner and the Soma COSMOS. Various themes were recorded into the COSMOS memory live, layering in, fading out and presenting new ideas and adjusting live the COSMOS Blur and Drift settings (Rhythmic #3 mode). Enner tuning was totally improvised live.

Track 5, "Listening"
Granie synthesiser sounds.
Track five comes back to the original theme, Pixel's meow. At first the meow is definitely not recognisable since the play-back frequency was several orders of magnitude higher than originally recorded, but then towards the end it is gradually slowed down to the original recorded play-back speed to reveal it's source.

Track 6, "Above"
Granie synthesiser sounds.
Human voice -> Soma Pipe -> Soma Cosmos -> Granie synthesiser.
The lead parts were mostly singing into the Soma Pipe using the Resonator mode (dual frequency controls on the Pipe). Naturally I messed with the COSMOS blur and drift settings live during the performance.
