The 2020 Virtual Burn was a powerful and unique musical journey. Although we were required to stay home and off the playa, 36 incredible artists still showed up on SPARKY virtually to create an unforgettable experience in the Dusty Multiverse and BrcVR.

This year at Pynk I had to privilege to play a little set for the very first time. What an honor! What you see on the cover is the art installation that we built for Cielos and Pynk XI with @Fantinb and @Lyorapissarro. This year came strong for the amount of expression that’s coming out, a lot of letting things fly rather than keeping them inside. And that feels absolutely amazing! Recorded under a starry sky on Friday the 13th @ Kiezburn 2021.  I was walking past the Mellow Submarine camp when someone called out "Does anyone know a DJ?"  A few minutes later I had my mixer set up and we were ready for liftoff.  Thank you so much to all the lovely creatures who joined me on this journey, and to Mellow Submarine for welcoming me in so spontaneously.

Friends, 
We have entered a year which I believe will be quite special. I believe in symbols and numbers are the most powerful symbols. 2 and 0 together will bring transformations. Those might not be special in the way we expect, but it will be special in the way that serves the collective most. Nevertheless, we will survive this new era. Because we have something quite similar, under our skins, don't we?

Q:  Good morning Pinar :) I hope you agree to answer a few random and fun questions to share with our listeners? 

*Of course, bring it on :)*

Q: To start you off tell us what song puts you in a good mood when you wake up in the morning? 

*I usually don’t start my day with music…I much prefer to hear the sounds of the environment in the morning. When I do, these days I prefer soulful music from the legends like Erkyah Badu, Bill Withers, Aretha Franklin, Al Green*

Q: Now should you ever, but let’s hope not, be stuck on an island, which music album would you bring with you and why? 

*What a though question to ask to a DJ! :D  
I might bring “Love Deluxe” from Sade. It is a fantastic album and with its soothing atmosphere, would do the job of keeping me calm and sane well.  Can I also take a Queen album, for flashbacks to my teenage years*

Q: Moving on to serious issues, what is your favourite cocktail to drink during a sunset? 

*Any time of the day- I will take a piña colada!*

Q: Once the global pandemic is over, which festival would be the one you would go to first and why? (it could be a club, if you got no festival in mind) 

*I really want to go to Fusion Festival in Germany. But before that, I will first support the local scene and hit our amazing club, 24 Kitchen Street, in Liverpool. *

Q: Which artist/band do you secretly love but you are embarrassed to admit? (i.e. you have been to their concert, you know the lyrics.) 

*No embarrassment here with anything I listen But okay… maybe it would be bit unexpected if I admit how much I enjoy some of the contemporary pop artists these days, such as Dua Lipa.*

Q: If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be and why? 

*I would really like to do a warm up for Four-Tet, so that I can see his live performance finally (tickets always sell out quickly:P) and maybe have a pint with Kieran after. His creativity is really inspiring for me and as far as I can tell from his instagram, all that amazing tunes come from very simple set-ups. Would be amazing to know more about him. *

Q: Lastly, regarding this mix you have done for us, can you tell us a little bit of your thought process behind choosing the tracks you chose? 

*When I think of sunset grooves vibes, and sunsets in general, I see myself in a mood that I am between chilling and dancing- the perfect warm-up state. So, I wanted to reflect that image I had and mixed tracks that are somehow trippy but yet groovy, with occasional familiar references You will hear some of my signature tribal sounds, as well as edits of classic grooves and some recent works of contemporary artists from the downtempo scene.*
