Hello and welcome to the second episode of the 𝗞𝗨𝗡𝗘 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀 Series. This podcast is an attempt to maintain the community feeling that has been quite strangled in this past year. We miss all the people from the long nights and the early mornings on the dancefloors. 

This is a light-hearted and open conversation with the local artists who will be performing on the island during 𝗞𝗨𝗡𝗘 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭. Because, first and foremost, they are people that we highly appreciate as well as wonderful artists, we also want our audience to get to know them from a more intimate perspective.

For the second edition of Rugged Sessions we have invited the multi-talented Adam Stromstedt. The Sydney based DJ/Producer has had some excellent releases on labels like KANN, Banoffee-pies, Gestalt Records, Bossmusik and more. 
Adam is also host of his own radio show called Always Sometimes and he is co-founder of Lyssna Records. He has recorded a beautiful laidback 1 hour mix for us filled with soulful and dubby house with a lot of warm jazz influences. Just like his production style, this is right our cup of tea. Kartais tiesiog sunku patikėti, kaip viena naktis gali suformuoti tavo visą muzikinį skonį. Lygiai prieš 2 metus apsilankėme garsiąjame De School klube, HET Weekend vakarėlių serijoje, kuri vyko nuo šeštadienio vakaro iki pirmadienio ankstyvo ryto. Ten, kaip visada, užėjome savo mėgstamiausiu laiku - sekmadienio popiete, kada saulė leidžiasi atlikejui grojant. Tuo metu už pulto stovėjo dar mum visai nežinoma atlikėja - k.atou. Iki šiol eina šiurpuliai vien pagalvojant apie visą setą. Dar taip stipriai šokti niekad neteko. Nuo to laiko visas susidomėjimas minimalistiniu žanru tiktai stiprėjo, taip pat, kaip ir noras daugiau sužinoti apie atlikėją. Teko išklausyti visus mixus, podcastus ir su kiekvienu klausymu likti vis labiau nustebintiem. Kai tik pradėjome savo įrašų seriją, k.atou buvo vienas pirmųjų žmonių, su kuriuo iš karto susisiekėme ir paprašėme įrašyti mixą. Šiandien gavome galutinį rezultatą, kuris išpildė ir perpildė visus lūkesčius. Pristatome 1 valandos linkėjimus tiesiogiai iš Atėnų:

Sometimes it is hard to believe how much one night can influence your musical taste. Exactly 2 years ago we visited the famous De School club and went to HET Weekender party which used to start on Saturday night and finish on Monday morning. As usual, we went to the party on a Sunday afternoon when you can watch the sunset while the artist is playing. At the time, behind the decks there was k.atou - we didn’t really know her back then. We are still getting goosebumps just thinking about the whole set. We never danced so hard in our whole lives. After that moment our interest in minimal music genre just got stronger and we were striving to know more about the artist. We listened to every mix and podcast and we were getting more and more facinated. When we started our mix series, we knew she will be one of the first ones we will make contact and ask to record us a mix. Today we received the final result which was even more than we expected. We present to you 1hour greetings directly from Anthens:

For this next Avenue Red Podcast episode we welcome Nanni Bottura (real name Giovanni Bottura), a refined crate-digging DJ and music enthusiast from the beautiful, vibrant Italian capital city of Rome. Here Giovanni has delivered us a lengthy almost 2.5-hour journey through a diverse mixture of records from his intriguing collection.

Expect all kinds of sounds from tech-edged house and 4/4 dubby techno oddities through to razor-sharp, electrifying breaks and ravey sounds. It's a really interesting mix bursting with energy, as Giovanni showcases his supreme taste and his raw talent on the decks.

In that time more than any other thing, music was my happy refuge, my personal escape from reality. During that long period as the world stopped, I dug very deeply into different musical genres and the journey that you are about to listen to is one of the results of this research. Francesca's art and architecture inspired show Architextures is back. Tune in for a two-hour musical journey inspired by Brutalism and Brutalist Architecture with tracks by Biosphere, Underworld, Orbital and Air Max ‘97 among many others. 

Brutalism is a style that emerged in the 1950s in post-war Great Britain. Brutalist buildings are characterised by their massive, monolithic and ‘blocky’ appearance with a rigid geometric style and large-scale use of poured concrete. Modular elements were often used to form masses representing specific functional zones, grouped into a unified whole. 
Brutalism became synonymous with the socially progressive housing solutions that architects and town planners promoted as modern ‘streets in the sky’, encouraging an ethos of ‘social utopianism’. 
As high-rise buildings became associated with crime, social deprivation and urban decay, Brutalism was increasingly reviled, and across the UK, many Brutalist buildings were demolished. However, the movement has continued to influence later forms, associated with high-tech architecture and deconstructivism. In recent years, it has been critically reappraised, with certain buildings being seen as architectural landmarks, such as London’s Barbican Centre.
