Contributing our latest episode is London’s ANNX, a regular figure within the city’s cutting-edge undercurrent whose many contributions include co-curation of the Whomp, Perspectives, and once-shrouded Magick events, and a residency at the beloved Above Below festival. Anna’s tireless dedication to the scene goes hand-in-hand with her unmistakable talent behind the decks, as evidenced by an impressive repertoire of mixes and set recordings, and which I was fortunate enough to witness first-hand last summer in the Chilterns. Here Anna demonstrates her well-honed craft over the course of two meticulously plotted hours, diving seamlessly into manifold forms of deep, heavy psychedelia before emerging in a wave of euphoric bliss. "En este mix rindo homenaje —por enésima vez— al IDM de los 90, también conocido entonces como electronic listening music, leftfield electronica o braindance.
Para mí, esta música de los 90 se caracteriza por producciones ricas en capas y matices estimulantes, con sonoridades jugosas, ritmos intrincados, todo sostenido por estructuras melódicas evocadoras.
Piezas largas para sumergirse y viajar con una visión sugerente y hedonista del futuro — que era, al mismo tiempo, el presente — con una tensión compositiva de euforia contenida y alegría latente, siempre a punto de despegar hacia el éxtasis.
Es evidente la influencia que este amplio movimiento de los 90 ha tenido en la producción y percepción de la música electrónica. Aunque debo decir que mi fascinación viene sobre todo de lo personal: fue la banda sonora de un momento inolvidable de emergencia y descubrimiento, en muchos sentidos, durante mi juventud ".

Deep immersion / restrained euphoria

The era is defined by productions rich in layers and stimulating nuances, featuring lush sonic textures, intricate rhythms, and evocative melodic structures. These are extended tracks intended for deep immersion and inner journeys, often guided by a suggestive and hedonistic vision of the future — which, at the time, was also the present — . The music carries a compositional tension marked by restrained euphoria and latent joy, always on the verge of breaking into ecstasy.

Expansive yet dialed in with tireless precision, Haruka’s set transitions between eyes-down introspection and buoyant, infectious energy with ease. To witness this level of craft enveloped by such a warm and vibrant aura is an absolute pleasure, and it’s easy to imagine oneself suspended weightless in Haruka’s element. Thank you Haruka!

For the first time collaborating on a mix, Camu and Joan Gila crafted this set for Temple 08 "world of echo", a series of deep listening events curated by Josephine and Camu himself at Espacio Perpendicular. 

The mix drifts through a landscape of minimalism, ambient waves, shamanic echoes, and deep, textural drones - an immersive journey through layers of sound.

Feeling incredibly proud to share this new chapter in our Podcast Series, a profound and powerful mix from the dearest Lou Drago, an artist and human we deeply admire 🤍

Lou is the host of one of our favourite ambient shows @transience-archive which airs monthly on Berlin’s Cashmere Radio to provide listener with a much needed relief from anxiety and together with marum they host sonic-seances under the name @infinity-rug 🫧

Lou believes in the transformative potential of sound and the importance of deep listening. Whether that is listening to each other, our needs or to the sounds around us. In their sets they often explore the sonic landscapes of the in-between, where the listeners perspective dictates the experience, yet holds them in a warm embrace to invite a deep dialogue with the listening body-mind.

like many of us, my heart has been red with grief-rage witnessing the ever-escalating genocide in Gaza. this mix starts with an invocation for the liberation of the Palestinian people, a struggle that omits none of us if we wish to be truly free. 

the slowly evolving sound journey takes us through several realms and phases of introspection, ghosts of the past lingering in melodies they never heard. sonic energies condensing and expanding, offering spaciousness for contemplation and being with whatever arises.

meandering through earthly realms, through the riparian zone, swamps, and forests we meet with mournful spirits in her gut, casting our attention on the multiplicities of loss we are facing. yet in the shade there are angels, who remind us that we have been doing this for many, many lifetimes. ‘keep on’ they seem to whisper. 

eventually we arrive to the sunset inside, where the Grand River’s winds meet the horizon, guiding our gaze upward toward the night sky where the mysteries of the celestial bodies radiate, Lyra’s visions casting an empowerment spell for all those who listen. 

may we each grow ever surer of our paths, finding creative and yet unimaginable ways to continue our collective struggle for the liberation of all sentient entities, until we are all free.

Nems-B (Nahim Bendjilali) (@nemsb), born in 1979 in Aix-en-Provence, is a French DJ and producer with over 20 years of experience. Rooted in Soul, Funk, Jazz, and Hip Hop, he embraced House and Techno in the mid-90s. Known for his refined selections and technical skills, he runs the podcast/event platforms Phonons (@phonons-net) and Deepness Road. He has performed at top venues across France (Concrète, Glazart, Terminal, La Java, Les Jardins Suspendus) and internationally at Tresor (Berlin), Paral·lel Festival (Spain), Contact (Tokyo), Vurt (Seoul), Gare (Porto), and more. His music has been released on Oslated, Geometrika FM, On Board Music, Goldmin Music, Accent Records, with upcoming EPs on Lemme Records. The best is yet to come.
