Strand of a Lake, Volume 1 was written and recorded from July 2021 through August 2022 in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Okinawa. Volume 2 was written and recorded from August 2022 through March 2025.

Volume 1 was released digitally on September 13, 2022. Volumes 1 and 2 will be released together on vinyl in the fall of 2025 by Expert Work Records.

Mixed by Kevin Kelly in Los Angeles. Drums recorded by Naruto (sowonsha) in Okinawa.

The Elusive was a Washington, D.C. post-hardcore band that formed in the summer of 1997 from members of Corm, Jenhitt, and the Tilden Shirtwaist Fire. The quintet played only a handful of shows with peers -Arm, Braid, the Challenger Commission, Compound Red, Franklin, Frodus, the Get Up Kids, Joan of Arc, Kerosene 454, Proudentall and others -before breaking up in April 1998. Months earlier, the Elusive recorded Sometimes Sounds Collapse, documenting all six songs written during the band’s brief tenure. Released on CD by Shute Records in 1998, the EP has been out of print for years. Following the breakup of the Elusive, members John Davis and Chris Richards immediately co-founded the band Q And Not U (Dischord Records).

Amputee Set was a band from 1997-2001. In 2003 the band decided to reunite for a one off reunion show, playing their entire catalog of songs. During rehearsal for the show they wrote a new song the remained untitled and has since been named "Mission of Burnham" to honor and remember their guitar player Morgan Burnham who passed away in 2013. The other song, "We're All Born Dying" was written while the band was still active, but they never properly recorded it. Since these two songs never appeared anywhere else in the Amputee Set discography, we decided to release them digitally. This is a live recording from 2003 from a house show at The legendary 1810 Ranch (IYKYK) in Columbia, MO the other bands that played that night were The Souls and Call Me Lightning.
