Our next mix is by Bahrain-based artist @JulianMesaofc. Originally from Brooklyn, Julian grew up stateside in the ‘90s and exposed to a wave of what is now considered to be some of the most important records in electronic music history - a rich musical background that he has carried with him along the way to refining and perfecting his craft. 

Julian is represented in Bahrain by Vibes Entertainment Bahrain, and he is the founder of Off Global Group.

Julian is inspired by some of the more artistic names in the underground dance scene like #EllenAllien, #FabioFlorido, #JonHester, #KeithCarnal, #AlexBaciu, and #SatoshiTomiie, to name but a few.

Julian’s work is released on Fervence Records (Sweden) and Explicit Codec. With his newly formed promotional brand, OFF Global Group, he expects to take his global presence to the next level.

Tim Cook Began his DJ career in 1994. He has performed in every major US Market as well as on three continents

DJ T.E.C. has been a musical pioneer in the electronic music scene for nearly as long as the music style has existed. From playing English pop cross over hits like “Move any Mountain” by the Shamen, and Sunscream’s early releases, to being the first to break Mark Farina’s Mushroom Jazz & LTJ Bukem’s “Logical Progression”

Europe and touring during the years 1999-2005 found DJ T.E.C. performing in multiple continents and every major media market in the United States. T.E.C. was performing 8-12 hour live sets during a corporate sponsored tour where he was playing block parties, and major festivals of the time. This tour went to Daytona, Denver, Los Angles, San Diego, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, San Antonio, Milwaukee, Chicago, and many other Stops. During this time T.E.C. was sponsored by Nervous Records, and Atlantic Records.

In the year 2002 T.E.C. started his own event production company, called Siemprefoundation, which was responsible for throwing some of the largest underground parties in Baltimore at that time. T.E.C. guested and headlined hundreds of events with capacities of thousands of people. He played with many many well know artists, such as Donald Glaude, Richard Humptyvision, Uberzone, Ak 1200, Dara, Aphrodite, Diesel Boy, Hatiras, George Acosta, and others too many to name.

During this time, T.E.C. guested or had residencies at all of the most sought after clubs in Baltimore and Washington D.C. Additionally during this time, T.E.C. had a winter residency in Switzerland, had played in Amsterdam, Italy, Venezuela, Miami, and more. In 2005 T.E.C. held a summer residency in Ibiza at Café Paradis, as well as Café Tantra, and also performed on Ibiza radio Flaix FM It was while living in Ibiza, that T.E.C. recorded his first major release, a remake of the Beastie Boys “Fight for your Right to Party” which was played by Tomy Novy on the terrace at Space. This was one of the first major releases to combine hip-hop and techno, which would soon thereafter become a sought after sound in the house music and pop music worlds.

After a successful stint in Ibiza, T.E.C. returned home to Baltimore to begin his era of working the pop scene in Baltimore and D.C. again, guesting and having residencies at all of the main clubs in the market during that time. He teamed up with Jetsetmafia.com to produce many mega parties, was a hip-hop resident, at multiple clubs during regular hours, and techno house resident at the infamous 1722 after hours. As house and techno became more and more main stream T.E.C. found himself spinning his mix of techno and hip-hop at commercial venues, mainstream bars, and was creating the soundtrack of the pop scene. With multiple trips to Miami winter music conference, Ultra and Space parties, T.E.C. continued his deep research of the scene and further honed his sound. After nearly a decade and a half of constant performance, in 2010, DJ T.E.C. went on hiatus to pursue personal life goals.

Dr. Sal aka Salman Aljar is a Bahrain-based DJ and an upcoming producer. He is the founder of #DeeptechBahrain, a music collective driven to support the creativity of the artists from the Gulf region and around it, a member of international music collective @offglobalgroup, and a resident DJ at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain.

Dr. Sal has been lighting up the scene since his entry in 2015 with residencies at elite spots in Bahrain, while consistently dropping jaws of the underground scene with his range of ethnic, groovy, and hard selections.

Dr. Sal’s approach is reflected mainly by mood and a deep hypnotic groove and finding tracks that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, or style.

Inspired by artists and DJs the likes of #TheProdigy, #DaftPunk, #FatboySlim, #TheChemicalBrothers, #DrDre, #MichaelJackson, #Nirvana, #Soulfly, #Pantera, #GreenDay, #EdReal, #DaveClarke, #DerrickMay, and #ChrisLiberator, to name a few, Ahmed’s music is a binding mesh of elements drawn from his inspirations and surroundings.

Under his alternative artist name Ed Buzzerk, Ahmed became a familiar face in the underground House night “art.haus.” His radio show series “Rumble in the Depths” is a plunge into the deeper and darker sides of house and techno, highlighting forgotten gems from the Bahraini nightlife scene, with exclusive interviews with local DJs and artists from Bahrain.

Ahmed prides himself as a collaborator and has had the pleasure to work with numerous local artists and up-and-coming talents in many styles, one of which is #SlimfitTea, a guitar-based Techno/Electronica duo created with #7MND (Hamad Ebrahim). His latest project, entitled XO, is a collaborative improvisational electronic dance music platform for artists with noise-making machines. It has so far featured Bahraini and Bahrain resident artists such as Na Der (#NaderAmeeruddin), #RashedAlDhaen, #PapaPush (Fadal Nazir), #HSE (Hasan Ebrahim), as well as Saudi talent #Spceboi (Adnan AlSanaa). Post pandemic, the plan is to take the project out of the studio and onto public spaces and dance floors.
