On Friday 8th April, BBC Radio 1 celebrated dance music legend Pete Tong's two decades at the station with a night of programming dedicated to his outstanding broadcasting career. I was lucky + honored enough to be asked to do a live mix on the show mixing future sounds with classic tracks... It was one of the most nervewracking things I've ever done but I think it went ok! Christian Nielsen has never been one for musical pigeonholes, but with his new 'Pull Up' EP on Pets Recordings, the Danish producer takes that ethos to its logical extreme. Two tracks. Two distinct moods. One cohesive, club-ready package.

Made not in some plush Berlin bunker but in the most democratic of studios - his kitchen, after the kids were asleep - the limited time and space, allowed Christian to focus on what really matters - the groove, the vibe, and making every sound count.

The title track, 'Pull Up', is pure peak-time propulsion: raw, rhythmic rap vocals locked tight to a driving, big room chassis, built for the kind of dancefloor moments when the energy shifts from simmer to boil. Flip it to 'Infinity', and the mood changes to melodic,   yet propulsive textures with a more a spacious arrangement that's designed for losing yourself.

'I wanted to create something that feels both nostalgic and fresh,' Nielsen says. 'The idea was to capture that spontaneous energy you get when unexpected elements collide in the right way.'

Airwolf Paradise is back on Diynamic with "Synthesizer", a two-tracker EP that hits the floor from every corner. The title track bursts in with early 2000s four-to-the-floor peak synth vibes, vocals gliding over a relentless, driving bassline. "Push Pull" steps in next, acid chords slicing through the mix, layered vocals pushing the energy higher - like two friends taking over the dancefloor, pulling the night into a fever pitch. Meca returns to Watergate Records with a fresh take on his standout two-track "Corre" EP, released earlier this year, now accompanied by two special remixes.

"Corre", Meca’s collaboration with fellow Brazilian Nezello and vocalist Jéssica Gaspar, gets a VIP remix treatment from one of the heavyweights of the house world, a name that’s being kept under wraps for now, but whose signature touch elevates the track’s Latin-infused grooves to new heights.
