I dug deep into the archives for this one. I managed to find HQ copies of all the tracks used. I spend a bit of time running tracks through Ableton fixing BPM and making a few edits. Music production and the software used pre 2000 was nowhere near as good as today, as a result tracks never run true. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did mixing it. Hoping it brings back a few memories.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 and 2:00 a.m. UK time on Saturday morning. 

The show has been hosted since its inception in 1993 by DJ Pete Tong, who was also the first performer.

The broadcast features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music presenting an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week.

Another initiative was to take the show on the road with live broadcasts from clubs and festivals during New Year's Eve.

Storken & JStaaf recently returned from their highly anticipated Mexico tour, showcasing their latest release "Tunghugg," which is now available on the renowned @RunningBack label. We had the pleasure of hosting these talented artists for our bi-weekly broadcast at Lykke Nytorget last Thursday, and the vibe was electric.

Let's begin by introducing @storkenmusic, a DJ/producer with a unique blend of influences. Born in '93, Storken grew up in a musical family in the Swedish countryside, where he was deeply inspired by 80’s icons like Phil Collins, Queen, and Tina Turner. Early exposure to music led him to explore various instruments such as drums, guitars, piano, and turntables, all while developing a passion for underground electronic genres. Storken masterfully combines the progressive elements of his Swedish heritage with an electronic disco style, resulting in a captivating musical fusion.

Storken's debut release, "Lille Vals," on the esteemed label Running Back, as well as his debut EP, "Skogsdisko," have received recognition from respected figures in the industry, including @Annie Mac, @Pete Tong, @Folamour, @The Blessed Madonna, @PurpleDisco Machine, @Patrick Topping, @Andhim, and @Krystal Klear. These endorsements are a testament to Storken's exceptional talent and his ability to create music that resonates with a wide audience.

Now, let's turn our attention to @J_staaf, a versatile artist known for crafting dynamic sets filled with playful grooves and always keeping some light present in his music. With releases on labels like @Days Like Nights/Armada, @Beatfreak Records, @Running Back, @NEIN, @Espacio Cielo, @Storkenland, and @Gods Groove, JStaaf has built a reputation for his vibrant and colorful tunes. A graduated DJ at the Pete Tong Dj Academy, where i got teached by Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Adam Byer, Nicole Moudaber, Jamie Jones and Tsha.

Alan Burton is an Essex DJ, Promoter, Producer and Record Label owner from Essex. He has been djing for over twenty five years. Alan is an Original 1988 acid house raver and a self confessed Vinyl junkie. He even gave up his secure job in 2000 to sell vinyl for five years before the musical digital age took over!  He has played at iconic London venues in his time such as Turnmills and the Fridge and his very own London Thames Boat Parties which have been running for over fifteen years. Alan has mainly dj'd in East Anglia and played at the legendary Oscars Pier all nighters back in the day in his home town of Clacton.  After a twelve year break from Djing Alan has been back behind the decks and embraced the Facebook Streaming Internet radio station culture with regular Live shows.  As well as Djing and promoting he runs his Inspirado Record labels concentrating on Deep Tech house and Funky house. To date the labels have had over a Hundred releases! In 2021 Alan will oversee a new club night, a second run of his beach parties and a joint hosting of the the VIP tent at the Properfest festival.  Alan's sound is Acid house, Tech house, Minimal deep house and melodic techno, however he always loves to play a classic set! Alan has co-produced releases in the past five years but 2020 has seen him breakout and produce solo with several releases and remixes under his belt.  Alan Now has a Weekly residency Friday  12am till 2am on London's newest pioneering dance music radio station UNITY DAB - this is an exciting new challenge and alan will be pushing new producers and labels and push the acid house , tech house and melodic house sound genre!

Hi there, it is always difficult to write something about yourself. Therefore i keap it short & simple. All tough the most of my mixes in the style of Melodic Techno/ Deephouse/ Deep Techno are, i like to mix alle kinds of styles. Trance, Latin, Techno, Lounge and so on....

I experienced my first contact with Electronic music through a Happy-Hardcore-CD of my brother, which I came across by accident. I was fascinated by the speed and intensity of that genre. Through Sven Väth's "L'Esperanza" I got introducted to Trance and via Richie Hawtin's Remix of System 7's "Alpha Wave" to Techno. 1996 I had my early Club-/Rave experiences, which induced me to buy my first records. I started playing at private parties, till I eventually had my premiere rave gig in 1997. Together with my brother I'm also deejaying b2b (Da Brothers gonna work it out / Daniele d'Agnelli vs. Dyrtsta).

I always try not to submit myself to any stylistic boundaries. The audience always decides where the journey goes to.

Started playing in the 90's in Club "Lobbes" in Haarlem (hiphop, house, mellow, dance, hits, happy hardcore) and had my own evening there, also played a lot of different party's and even threw a few myself (The neverending story 1 & 2
