Joep Mencke, one of the happies campers of them all, and his soul-propelling masterpiece, Asiri, is the perfect piece of music to usher in the Spring. “Music takes me on a journey. A journey that makes me want to close my eyes and wander off to wherever the melodies take me,” Joep has been quoted as saying. And the ‘me’ that wanders when eyes are closed is the essence of ‘me’ that dreams. Some would call that the soul.

Asiri is a soul-scape that celebrates all the complexities of life from a place of joy and gratitude. With soaring melodies, complex arpeggiators and moments of reflective dimuendos, it pays homage to Joep’s journey and appreciation into music. In fact, it pays every journey homage which is likely why it is so universally well received.

From the DJ’s deck, Asiri has consistently brought people together on the dance floor. It’s as if Asiri reminds people to celebrate just being alive with all it’s complex, reflective and soaring moments.

These living legends of the progressive scene have graced Asiri with their unique touch. For this reason this unique vocal track had to be remixed by Robbie´s favorites producers: Zakir and Fulltone delivering this fire remix package of magical sounds and emotional elements.

Fulltone remix appears as more dark emotional affair featuring space synth sounds always with beautiful music influence as always Fulltone does. We love his music, always quality deep edge vibes.

Zakir remix blown us aways the first time we listen, it has a powerful groove with stunning percussion, acidic bassline, trippy melodic arpeggios and vocal glitches that create a funny jammin story between the vocal and the groove. All around a great interpretation very different form the original.

Vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer Bora Uzer teamed up with Mynox and Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Vander to create "Let It Breathe". Birthed on a never-ending day of February in Turkey's dynamic city of Istanbul, this piece fuses elements of electronica, deep house, and modern pop. The lush vocals of Bora convey a certain epicurism and invite us to let go and accept life.

This EP is complemented by the alternative versions of psychedelic duo Pandhora, British talent Shunus, and Volt Milano residents Sound Shapes. Pandhora crafted a progressive & melodic reshape incorporating jazzy chords and upbeat grooves. Shunus came up with a different story, slowing things down with his downtempo sound signature and a relish of western vibes. To wrap up this release, the Italian duo Sound Shapes infused their remix with deep sounds and decided to go for a tense atmosphere which suits afterhours dancefloors perfectly.

The mysterious Aiwaska is back with another masterclass in introspective electronica. Following on from previous Exploited Ghetto outing ‘Medicine’, he treads a similar path of hypnotic sensuality.

A pulsating synth arpeggio propels the track from the first instant, building a hazy chug with its slow-tempo and spacious, subtle percussion accompaniment. Hollow bass tones punctuate as the kicks punch through pristinely. A tortured male vocal that takes its cues from the alt-rock world arrives to bring a dramatic twist, with soft harmonies increasing the haunting feel. Gentle snare patterns add a little more urgency, and a twinkling synth line morphs and undulates around it beautifully. 

A spine-tingling breakdown forces the eyes to wobble and the jaw to gently rotate, before open hi-hats drop in to propel the track forwards. Vocal snippets move through trippy delays as more subtle synth magic weaves in around beautiful chime chords. Wherever you listen to this gem of a track, you’ll find yourself transported to a slightly altered plane, and you’ll feel all the better for it. That’s the Aiwaska way...
