Talking about the new venture, Moscoman says, "I wanted Disco Halal to have an outlet like this, a great opportunity for us to promote and shine a light on amazing new music from young unknown artists. The Disco Halal Singles Club gives us exactly that. We hope you enjoy it.”
 
The first selection of releases includes high-octane synth wave melody ‘Ananda’ from Goom Gum and a trance-inspired cut ‘Jado’ from 8Kays & Postig which demonstrates the depth and far-reaching soundscapes of the label.
 
Based in Berlin, but firmly rooted in the diverse and forward-facing musical scene of Tel Aviv, Disco Halal label hails from beneath the minarets of the Holy Land. The imprint exists to present a tightly-knit and growing community of musicians and producers, each transmitting their unique musical identity, yet each united by a unique sensibility, as well as a harmonious balance of rhythm and experimentation.
 
Encompassing elements of downtempo, new-wave and alternative pop, stitched together with a leftfield dancefloor throb, Disco Halal’s back-catalogue, filled with efforts from the likes of Simple Symmetry, The Organism and Moscoman himself, has seen the imprint rapidly emerging from the once-overlooked nightlife and club scene of Tel Aviv into the worldwide spectrum.
 
The Disco Halal Singles Club  is set to launch on September 6th.'

Hottest BJ for a while this! Pure terrace-friendly house music fire from legendary producer Arthur Baker. Highly limited as usual. First come - first served.

Anyone whose served time on the dancefloors during Ibiza's more heady days will be up on the flavours showcased here: tribal-tinged, big room grooves full of congas, sax blasts and low, rumbling bass. 

Arthur and Laz met at MURKs famed Monday residency at Coyo Tacos Wynnwood Miami where Casanova is a resident and Baker a guest resident. Heavily influced by the 'Miami sound', I bet these sounds worked just as well out there as they do on Europe's treasured party isle...

Laz and ABs first joint collab is the opener "Makossa". It started off from a few 80s loops out of Bakers vast catalogue, with Casanova whipping them in shape. It’s been battle tested over the last few years, with the subtle play between breakdown and release ratched up super tight. Big smiles all round when this bad boi drops...

“Dale!” features the vocal and production skills of Murk's legendary Oscar. He added the wild saxophone hook and a few other nudges in a late night session at Casanova's little Havana studio, resulting in this fiery tribal house stomper that primed for mainroom play. 

Finally, "BTs Happiness" sees Baker pair up with old friend & ex-wife, Tina b (of "Rockers Revenge", "Tripping on Sunshine" and "Jazzy Sensation" fame) to do some vocalizing. A low pass filter squeezes a whole manner off funky house goodness through on this one: jubilant strings, rolling bassline and glistening guitar licks.

'161 are a brand new Disco band from Manchester, formed by house music veteran Jason Herd. Their debut single, ‘I Love Your Love’, is shimmering, booty shaking Disco house jam packed with all the essential credentials to elevate the vibe, from impassioned sing-a-long vocals, uplifting pianos and live strings to Chic-esque guitar licks and a funky bass groove. Also on the package Jason turns out one of his signature 'Fat Arse Dub’s', amping up the energy, injecting a thundering bass, distorted toms and atmospheric rolls that rumble under old school piano melodies and playfully chopped vocals.

161 (named after the Manchester dialing code) first came together whilst Weirdo Recordings boss Jason Herd was running a live music venue, where he booked all the artists and formed a Motown Disco Band with some of the best musicians from Manchester and North West. Jason invited Benjamin Smith (Keys) and Jonathon Towers (Bass) to his studio above Sankeys to make some music. A year later with eight instrumentals in the bag, Jason and vocalist Nicole Battick penned 'I Love Your Love whilst sat in a Manchester beer garden downing cold ones in the sunshine, which was later vocalled by Lyndsay Davidson. Now armed with a catalogue of finished original songs primed for release on Weirdo, 161 are ready to unleash their Disco vibes on to the dance floor and will also be performing live as a full 6-14 piece band or a semi live set up. 

Jason Herd (aka Juan Kidd) has gained worldwide acclaim with his signature uplifting soulful and vocal house productions, releasing on top labels such as on Defected, Subliminal Azuli, Toolroom, Moody and CR2, among others.
