Ossie’s career to date is somewhat of a microcosm of the London electronic scene over the last decade. Emerging in the buzzing, innovative post-dubstep scene, he released two EPs of broken beat electronica through Kode 9’s superlative Hyperdub, Detroit techno flavours on Lightworks, and then moved into the UK house underground with releases on Wolf Music, 2020 Midnight Visions and his own Super Cali label. His eclectic output and diverse influences make him a vital producer, and this second EP for Exploited after 2017’s Milk delivers another three tracks of dancefloor gold.

We Mad is a pumping house workout, flexing with weighty garage bass and percussive grooves, while discordant keys play out a tense refrain. The powerful, politicised vocal speech and snippets of diva wailing are used to great effect, lifting the already highly energetic track up another level. My Rail goes in a more heads down direction, with a driving low end groove pummeling away beneath disorientating string cut-ups. Channeling vintage Kerri Chandler, it’s a relentless workout for when you want to keep things rolling. From Reece strips things down to basics, with a tight, snappy groove and sumptuous 808 bass tones working away under a pitchshifting hip-hop vocal sample creating a vibe that’s not too dissimilar to the early golden days of Switch. Mellow keys and a warm meandering synth soften things up as the track progresses.

With support for his music from the likes of Benji B, Gilles Peterson and Annie Mac and appearances at Sonar, Lovebox, XOYO and Boiler Room, Ossie is one of the most exciting names in the new skool of house music.

Ossie Aneke a.k.a OSSIE is a London based artist and DJ, synonymous with forward thinking electronic productions on the UKs most crucial imprints. 

The past few years have seen releases on labels such as; Hyperdub (Kode 9), Madhouse (Kerri Chandler), Exploited, Wolf Music, Brownswood Recordings and his own in print SuperCali.

OSSIE has seen continued support from Benji B and his Deviation parties over recent years, including a stand out DJ set for the Boiler Room x Deviation stage at Notting Hill Carnival. 

2019 has been a busy year so far, with a sting of releases across the summer months (‘Yeah we feel it’ - Madhouse Records, ‘Better days’ - Sense Traxx) that have seen support from the likes of The Black Madonna, Jamie Jones & Laurent Garnier. Annie Mac, Benji B & Danny Howard have also showed regular love across the Radio1 network this summer. 

For the year ahead OSSIE shows no sign of slowing down, with the release of another dance floor weapon (‘To make you smile’) on his label SuperCali and a 4-track EP in the pipeline via Nervous records.
