Danish talent Christian Nielsen's varied sounds fit into the boxes of a wide range of house and techno DJs, and his latest EP for Exploited treads a similarly eclectic path of bad-assness after a recent outing with KOMPAKT. 

'Still The Same' takes its cues from brooding '80s electro pop, fusing it to a deep tech backbone that makes for a perfect compliment. Moody on-beat bass sets the pulse as haunted vocal snippets and gliding synths swoop in sorrowfully. The shuffling, stripped-back pumps into life as delicate arpeggios hypnotise you into submission. Atmospheric swells threaten to envelop the track but are instead restrained in teasing fashion. A nagging rhythmic note adds more urgency, and more flurries of gorgeous synth arpeggiation and wiggling melodics keep the track colourful and invigorating throughout.  

'Now You're Free' centres on a more organic groove, with a shuffling jazzy drumset setting the tone. The vibe is still deep and contemplative, with the ghosts of '90s house vocals and muted jazz trumpet and cymbal rides contrasting against warm pads. Gentle tech percussion bolsters these organic elements and hazy FX make things a little trippy in all the right places. 

'My Love' makes for a perfect finale for this diverse 3-tracker, with head-nodding shakers and woodblocks creating a tribal flavour under acidic bleeps and hovering bass weight. Pitched down, stuttered vocals, swirling low-slung synths and shimmering synths create a cool, collected feel that makes this a lovely little set builder of a track.

International Feel's founder Marc Barrot and the loveable Mr Gerd Janson and his Tuff City partner Philip Lauer were enjoying a meal at Barrot's Ibizan hideaway. During said meal Marc somehow agreed to gift his unused Studio Electronics ´Boomstar 303´ synth. The Tuff City guys then thought it would be nice to repay the loan with a remix for Marc, which eventually turned into a full collaboration and this resulting EP. 

Keep an eye out for when it hits shelves on Nov 10th.

​Disciples are no strangers to the heights of the UK charts having reached number two with gold-status Calvin Harris collaboration 'How Deep Is Your Love'. 

Yes, they might be mixing it with the Las Vegas-conquering Scottish producer, but the London trio aren't just about tunes with an insanely catchy pop crossover. Their set in The Lab LDN earlier this year proves they've got a tidy house selection and the forthcoming 'The Following' EP on FFRR is very much geared towards those after a mean bassline and hypnotic grooves.

Mathame refine their singular sound on ‘Skywalking’ and a collaboration with Tale Of Us, ‘Departure’.
Following 2018’s ‘Nothing Around Us’ single, Mathame show no sign of slowing down. Their Afterlife Recordings follow up is a dancefloor single of epic proportions, taking the duo further into a realm of their own. Tension hangs off the sliding chords and spacious arrangements. In the case of ‘Skywalking’ it reaches an uplifting, euphoric crescendo, in Tale Of Us’ intro edit of ‘Departure’ the theme goes darker and off-kilter. UK producer, DJ and renowned radio presenter Monki debuts on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax alongside vocalist Wayne Hernandez, with PBR Streetgang and David Berrie remixes. 

Monki has accomplished a lot over the years. Whether as a presenter for BBC Radio 1, Defected Radio or Rinse FM, running her ‘Monki & Friends’ events, not to mention curating a Fabriclive mix, she’s unquestionably one of the UK’s best dance music exports. As well as release on her &Friends label, her productions have been landing on leading imprints like Weapons, DFTD, and iVAV. Debuting on Hottrax alongside London’s jazz singer Wayne Hernandez, she now adds another to her discography, following releases from East End Dubs, Cuartero, Popof, and Jamie Jones himself. 
 
‘I Woke Up’ features a solid analogue kick, atmospheric stabs, flashy cymbals and Hernandez’ perfectly treated vocals which reverberate through the sonic space and captivate attention.  

Respected for their excellent releases on Skint in recent years, Kurtz Records founders PBR Streetgang serve up two versions; locking in a compelling groove on their ‘Italo Dromo Mix’ with a simple but effective saturated snare, layering in a retro synth, evolving pads and spacey risers, before their ‘Italo Dromo Dub’ strips things back, emphasizing their beat programming and detailed key work.  

Returning Hottrax artist and Play It Say It producer David Berrie concludes matters with a swinging remix by switching up the rhythm using chopped up vocals, slick hats, rolling sub patterns and subtle keyboard flutters.
