Exploited’s semi-regular “mini compilation” series continues, with Shir Khan collecting together a quartet of new cuts from the label’s extended roster featuring Psychodelico, Piemont, James Curd, Freeform Five/Tuff City Kids.

About the artists:
1. PSYCHODELICO
Psychodelico are a white duo from NY. Anthony & Martin met at University in the early 90’s. They immediately synched together and decided four years later to open a video rental store on the 5th Avenue.
The love for the 80’s and the rise of digital convinced them to hold tight to the VHS Library and start collecting all sorts of analogue machines knowing that one day for some reason it would have paid back.
For the last 3 years they have been discovering and enjoying their vinyls and watching with friends hundreds of old music video tapes. 
After getting inspired and writing some great music in the dusty basement that once used to be their store they finally decided to approach the dream label.
The story continues with Psycodelico’s first single “Sex On The Phone” getting signed to the mighty Exploited! A pure 80ies Cocktail: Human League and Depeche Mode Stylistico.

2. PIEMONT
Made up of long-time friends Frederic and Chris, the pair first decided to hook up and make music together back in 2007 and, since then have released on techno labels like Monika Kruse’s Terminal M, Area Remote, MBF and SKINT.
Piemont’s sound is best described as organic techno. Their music always comes stuffed with a sly robo-funk and is built in many rich layers. Their preference for ambient sounds, melodic lushness and abstract electronica makes every track different from the next - for evidence just listen to their recent 'Jack my Records' for Exploited, or earlier classics like Carbonat and Back Smoker.

3. JAMES CURD
After dropping "Red" and "I See Lights" on Exploited as Jimmy & Fred, the unstoppable Adelaide-based producer James Curd has teamed up with JDub (lead singer of the Greenskeepers Project) for a new collaborative track called “To Cool For School”. Anyone remember "Buffalo Girl" from 2008 featuring James Curd, Derrick Carter and JDub from 2008 on Greenskeepers Music? "To Cool For School" sounds like a proper update with illmatic verses and styles for 2014.

4. FREEFORM FIVE/TUFF CITY KIDS
The return of Anu Pillai’s Freeform Five has also coincided with a minor resurgence in electro clash – we’re not quite at 2007 levels yet but Five’s latest single (released earlier this year on Exploited), ‘Brandy Alexander‘ is pointing to something similar.
Pillai doesn’t really do simplicity, and ‘Brandy Alexander‘ sees the producer back to his most daring concocting a mixture of rolling acid lines, clash-y vocals and twisted basslines – and with an unreleased remix by Tuff City Kids 'Brandy Alexander' is back in safe hands.
Based just outside of Frankfurt Tuff City Kids is the alias for production duo Gerd Janson, boss of Running Back and long time DJ (Resident DJ in Panoramabar and Robert Johnson) and Arto Mwambe member Philip Lauer. Besides their far-reaching and esteemed solo careers, Tuff City Kids have provided remixes for high-profile artists such as Azari & III, Tensnake and Ali Love and released original EPs on Delsin and Osgut Ton sub-label Unterton. For Freeform Five's "Brandy Alexander" they delivered a stylish Italo-Disco-Update on Exploited which has been roadtested several times at Panoramabar Berlin and finally sees a release.

James Curd and Luke Million, what a pairing! After dropping an incredibly groovy tune “Yellow Magic” on Exploited as Luke & Jimmy, the unstoppable Adelaide-based producer James Curd has once again teamed up with fellow Aussie producer Luke Million (of The Swiss), for a new collaborative track called “Say The Words To You”. Featuring vocals from Nah Man!, aka Yeah Boy, the side project of Parachute Youth’s Johnny Castro, “Say The Words To You” is filled with Million’s signature synth lines and some serious French Touch vibes, and it’s every bit as delicious as you’d expect from this pair. Blast it above.

"Say The Words To You" pulls inspiration from the era when Chicago and Paris were walking hand in hand delivering the best house music in the world. It was like a friendly race to space with each city inspiring the other to out do the last release. Coming from the heart of Bosnia, Solomun is a passionate DJ who certainly knows how to please a crowd and keep the energy on the floor. Equally as talented and creative in the studio, he has many releases to his name on his own label Diynamic, as well as other imprints such as Four:Twenty, liebe*detail and Dessous recordings. Made for the dancefloor, his productions always have an element of funk or surprise, reminding people of the fun that's there to be had with music. As a label with many close ties to mobilee records, Diynamic will be co-hosting a party at mobilee's Sonar 2010 celebrations, which makes it even more fitting that this release brings the two forces more closely together.

Solomun's next big bang, being brought to you via Leena music, is a sure extension of his impeccable production skills and style, and is also one of the most unique releases you will here on the label so far. A-side 'Sisi' opens with a head-spinning explosion of notes and chords, being fired out like sparks in a continual loop. Then half way through the record, they dramatically stop, only to soon build up again and set the roller coaster off once more. B-side 'Talk To The Hand' is a bass-heavy and punchy track, that surprises you with euphoric piano chords in the second half, whilst B2 'Curesto' brings all of the elements together with piano chords, build-ups and some drama. Germany's Exploited label returns with yet another powerful release, this time from young Munich-based duo, Cocolores. The label has been hitting us with back to back 5-star EPs that usually end up topping the charts a month later (Claptone's "Cream" and Adana Twins' "Everyday" both reached the top on Beatport) so it is obviously exciting to see a new one show up. Labeled as "the return of Nouveau Bavaria", Cocolores is Jason Heath and Manuel Garay - two youngsters from Munich who produce a unique blend of 90ies house with a delictable tinge of urban funkiness. With their debutrelease "Heart Quest" (which will see remixes by Deetron & Trickski soon) they have conquered the hearts of many DJs and beautiful girls&boys. 'On My Own' is the first single release from the forthcoming debut Daytoner LP on Wass Records. 

The single features the vocal talents of Newquay based singer-songwriter, Jane Kennaway set against a classic Latin groove toughened for the dancefloor with the trademark vintage breaks of Daytoner.

The EP package also features quality remixes from across Europe including Renegades Of Jazz of Germany who has provided a big-band jazz version,  Mr Bird of Portugal has remixed a bonus Daytoner track in his own inimitable style and DJ Andy Taylor from Glasgow in the UK has twisted 'On My Own' into another classic Latin setting. The digital package will also include instrumental & dub versions of 2 of the remixes.

Quel plaisir aujourd'hui de vous annoncer le début de notre collaboration avec le Bruxellois Max Merkpoel, alias Stereoclip. La Délicieuse vous offre aujourd'hui un premier EP pour ce mois d'Octobre avec au programme le titre 'It's About The Time' en version masterisée, mais également en exclusivité le titre 'Don't Trust Me'.

Merveilleusement bien produit, l'ensemble se veut propre et fidèle à l'atmosphère intimiste de la formation. De la douceur, de la personnalité et de la finesse qui nous ont depuis longtemps séduits et donné envie de démarrer cette collaboration. Vous retrouverez en effet sur les deux morceaux la sublime voix susurrée de la jeune Joséphine qui enveloppe à merveille les beats électro intimistes de Max et les riffs singuliers de Tom Goris. Le tout sonne à merveille à tout moment de la journée dans nos petites écoutilles contractées par nos casques vociférants.
Avec Stereoclip, la mélancolie devient joyeuse et l'on aime ces deux titres qui nous font voyager à chaque écoute.

En bonus de cet EP, le remix d'Opprefish, récemment approché par Timid Records et Infiné Records. Le jeune parisien oppose ici rythme aux accents Faithlessiens, notes effilées de guitares et pianos. La construction réfléchie de ce morceau nous a définitivement séduits. Une ode au voyage et à la relaxation qui tombe à pic pour l'automne qui approche...

It's a pleasure to be announcing today the debut of our collaboration with Brussels local, Max Merkpoel, aka Stereoclip. The Délicieuse offers the first EP for October with the titled program 'It's About The Time' in mastered version, as well as the exclusive title 'Don't Trust Me'.

Beautifully produced, the ensemble is clean and true to the intimate atmosphere of it's formation. A softness, and finesse brings personality to his work, which gave us a strong desire to start this collaboration. On both pieces, the sublime voice of young Josephine can be found, which is wrapped within intimate electro beats by Max and singular riffs from Tom Goris. The unique riffs sound perfectly, suitable for listening at any time of day.
With Stereoclip, melancholy translates into pure joy. We love these two titles that take us to a new destination with each and every listen.
