Celebrated and Mercury-nominated UK duo Rae & Christian released their first new material for ten years in 2013 on Night Time Stories/Late Night Tales after spending the last decade meditating in a Buddhist monastery in Swindon. This year the label commissioned a series of remixes from Mercury Rising and Mang Dynasty (aka Ray Mang & Bill Brewster) take on Favourite Game featuring rising star of the Swindon Buddhist circuit Jake Emlyn.

Mang Dynasty focus on Gita Langleyʼs backing vocal hooks, adding a chorus piano motif and stretch things out into an epic nine minute plus main version aimed squarely at the dancefloor (and Afghanistan). Jake Emlynʼs more aurally-pleasing melodic parts are utilised towards the end taking things up another level to a happy finish. Initial reactions have been so strong it seemed rude not to slip out a 12-inch on Mangled, home of the hits. Presented here on heavyweight 180g 12-inch vinyl complete with Instrumental and Bonus Beats on the flip for your listening pleasure. Digital to follow on Night Time Stories in the New Year.

Six months after their last installment, Shir Khan and Exploited drop another hot to trot collection of disco edits. As usual, there's much to excite, beginning with the familiar guitar solos, Rhodes keys and dub disco pulse of Antilope's "Singing Ghost" rework. Death On The Balcony keep up the reverb and delay-laden dub disco theme on "Addict For Your Love", whose rubbery groove, twinkling pianos and heady vocals have been expertly rearranged to fit house dancefloors. Finally, Matpat go loop crazy on the thumping disco house cut "Only You" which sits somewhere between Rahaan and Soundstream. Excellent stuff all round.
