"Label boss at Talman Records, Paris-born, Berlin-based Okain is a household name for many across house, minimal and techno. Carrying an unquestionable studio pedigree with releases on Infuse, Pleasure Zone, Constant Sound, Eastenderz, and PIV, his blend of contemporary house has taken him to the booths of renowned institutions, including Panorama Bar, fabric and Rex Club, to name just a few. After dropping his ‘Daddy’s Groove’ EP on the label at the start of 2022, racking up love from names such as Moxie, D’Julz, Chris Stussy and Djebali, he returns to LOCUS to close April with his ‘All Along’ EP, with American DJ/producer Garrett David on remix duties as he makes his label debut.

‘With You All Along’ is a driving production guided by cosmic melodies and warped vocals as rich organic drums propel the production’s tight and hypnotic groove, taking cues and inspiration from 90s and early 00s tech house staples such as Peace Division. Next, ‘Botellon’ takes a more stripped-back dynamic as fluctuating synth leads and shimmering pads meet skippy drums, while Garrett David’s remix journeys deeper into spacier territories while employing a killer bassline deep within the mix. To close, ‘Escape The Lobby’ switches things up for a final time as punchy kicks, sweeping atmospherics, and squelching stabs unite amongst snippets of bliss."

Brazil’s Renato Cohen is a perfect match for Sandhog’s ‘Accent’, bringing his new school electro/Italo touch to the proceedings with a knowing nod to New Order’s monumental classic ‘Blue Monday’.
‘Alte Liebe’ by Berlin’s Micropacer will send you over the edge. An absolutely stunning melodic progression underpins the undulating bass and relentless piano stomp of this one, recalling classic Italo / piano house with its jubilant feel and soaring pads.

‘Building Up’ by Enduro Disco is built on a solid foundation of nu disco texture but with a chunkier house edge.
On ‘High Energy’ by Mexican producer Levantine, distorted kicks suck at a tense synth arpeggio while in the distance a dramatic melody plays amidst a church-like reverb.
Barcelona’s Baldo revisits the gorgeously colorful ‘Dream Of You’ from Istanbul’s rising talent Zeynep Erbay, taking it on one hell of a trip.
NEAT’s ‘DYR’ is a beautiful, delicate, unhurried gem of a track, dripping in sensuality. Shimmering percussion and delayed claps lay a foundation atop sorrowful sustained organ-esque pads.
‘Fantasia’ by Kadosh builds slowly through a dramatic minor key bass line and shimmering metallic fuzz to suddenly explode into life with a stunning, sorrowful main riff that rocks a distorted 8-bit electro vibe.
Madrid duo Depaart rock the slick, acidic cut ’And You’ with a real air of sophistication about it.
Studio Barnhus affiliates Måns Glaeser (from swedish Off The Meds) and Basement Space team up for ‘Hollywood Cole’ - a cute breakbeat track peppered with old skool rap & diva vocals, shimmering electric piano chords and a thick, undulating bassline.
Marvin & Guy up the tempo for Joyce Muniz & Theus Mago’s track ’Balin Bali’ to a pacey house bounce and lay on some gentle electro textures.
London duo Make A Dance go deeper on their rework for Budakid’s ‘Milestones’, building through gated snips of the vocal, pulsing pads, Latin snare patterns and subtle bleep riffs and delays to reach a heady, hypnotic place.
Fabrizio Mammarella does the damage on his version of ‘Nechama’ by Sandhog, teasing us slowly with ticking techno percussion that ebbs and flows, he gradually reveals the synth chords amidst giant snare hits and pulsing cymbal rides.
Atlanta-based Sejva closes the compilation with ‘We Only Want To Be Bad’, flexing Hi-NRG muscle with its off-beat bassline, snazzy melodies and campy vocals. A masterclass in retro revivalism.
All in all this is a great eclectic dance compilation.

 One of the most vital figures in contemporary house music for more than a decade now, Prime Numbers founder Trus’me makes his debut on Groovement with the ‘No Harm’ EP, featuring two new tracks that make good on his heritage.

‘No Harm’ is a bubbling, seductive roller that reveals itself slowly and surely as a punchy number, squarely aimed at sophisticated dancefloors, an ecstatic choir rising from beneath it’s interlocking rhythms. Meanwhile, ‘Someone New’ starts deep and burrows only further, making sensual and psychedelic use of trippy effects and a powerful, throbbing bassline to create maximum pressure.

Midwestern legend Delano Smith contributes a similarly confident, winningly understated remix of ‘No Harm’, one that takes the original track in an equally heady, techno-tinted direction, peppered with timeless Detroit touches.

With his love for music tracing way back to an early age by dabbling with various instruments and then moving on to develop a passion for record collecting, Trus’me found his calling after learning the art of mixing and sample digging. Surrounded by the heads of Manchester and its deep rooted music scene, one couldn’t deny that it was an effortless task to be exposed to good music from all genres, thus explaining his constantly evolving tastes as evident in his eclectic DJ sets as well as in his uniquely, diverse productions. “Like bookends some 12’s will work with both the beginning and the end of the night, such is the classy sampling from Trus’me” (Peter Nicholson, XLR8R). 

The much reputed CD sampler “Nards” that was responsible for initialing releases on Chicago’s Still Music label, inevitably sparked off Trus’me’s promising musical career. Seeing support from respected names such as Ashley Beedle, Juan Atkins, Mad Matts, Gilles Peterson and Chez Damier plus his productions selling out at record stores from Manchester to Tokyo, led to the highly successful release of his debut album, “Working Nights”, on Fat City Recordings, that’s hailed by most to be a timeless album, still finding devotees to this day. 

Not one to rest on his laurels, the label Prime Numbers was set up and quickly gained an unfaltering reputation for highly collectable and exceptional music from artistes such as Move D, Actress, Linkwood, Fudge Fingas, Motorcity Drum Ensemble; all artistes that fit the ethos and style that Trus’me continues to carry a torch for. In 2009, his highly anticipated follow-up album, “In The Red” that featured the likes of Chez, Damier, Amp Fiddler and Dam Funk further cemented his place in the House scene and set off a flurry remixes for acts such as LCD Soundsystem, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Alton Miller, Anthony Shake Shakir and more, including non-stop touring to clubs and festivals alike in Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, North America, South America and of course, in his backyard, the city of Manchester where it all began.
