Enduro Disco continues his mesmerising run of form on Exploited with another
spellbinding three-track release.
‘Julio’ is unmistakably his handiwork: a classy, spacious slice of modern, dubbed-out
disco. Warm, Balearic bass underpins a haze of chopped-up, resplendent disco
string samples and tripped-out, unintelligible vocals at the core of the track. Flurries
of saccharine, mellifluous synths soar and glide from various pockets of the track,
and deft conga rhythms fill in the gaps. More dramatic synth touches and triangle
16ths keep the track captivating to the very last moment.
‘One Jam’ is similarly dreamy, where plucked 8-bit-esque melody twinkles over
chugging bass and breathy male vocal harmonies. A triumphant feel envelops this
track, with shimmering disco hi-hats bringing the rhythm urgency and subtle strings
filtering away in the bedrock of the composition. Blissed-out, spine-tingling gear.
‘Standing Up’ completes this delightful 3-pack in wonderfully colourful fashion. The
bass is more funk-fuelled, blasts of sprightful trumpet jump out of the mix, and sweet
snatches of piano give passing glances through a filtered haze. Samples are twisted
into unrecognisable snatches of melody, and infectious percussive hits pepper the
groove msot pleasingly. Masterful.

Long overdue we welcome @love-over-entropy back on Lossless. Michel’s Antipodes EP is slightly different than what you’d expect from him without sacrificing his deep and hypnotic trademark sound. Typically a Love over Entropy release would be full of little details, tiny rhythmical changes, plenty of automation and small breaks but this one is different hence the name Antipode. Draw a line from any place on Earth through the center of the Earth and its diametrically opposite would be its antipode. Do you still follow? Good!

Antipode I (My Discotom is bigger than yours) grows from the same seed as the original but reminds more of early Chicago house grooves and adds a spaced-out Discotom that beautifully guides through its 6:35. Endless groove.

El primer lanzamiento del sello Secret Teachings, "Music Inspired By The Film Beijing Spring", se produjo después de que el productor, DJ y fundador del sello, Damian Lazarus, conociera al director Andy Cohen en un club nocturno de Ginebra. La historia de cómo Lazarus conoció a Miraclis es aún más extraordinaria: un encuentro casual a medianoche en Pucón, Chile, en una fogata en el bosque después de que Damian no pudiera entrar a su habitación de hotel. Este encuentro de mentes fue el comienzo de una notable amistad. Miraclis invitó al DJ a quedarse en su casa y compartir el pan con su familia, y los dos se mantuvieron en contacto, intercambiando música e ideas.

Trapped es una pista pesada y muy emotiva y pertenece a un lanzamiento por todo lo alto al que se suman interpretaciones muy especiales de Audion, también conocido como Matthew Dear. 

Miraclis ganó sus galones como DJ bajo el nombre de Max Clementi en su Chile natal y en España después de una temporada en el Instituto SAE de Barcelona. Tocando y escribiendo música desde que sus padres le regalaron su primera guitarra a los doce años, se inspiró en el synth wave, el pop electrónico, el trip hop y el rock psicodélico de los años 80 y 90, empapándose de música de artistas como Massive. Attack, Tricky, Depeche Mode y Nine Inch Nails. Sin embargo, no fue hasta que tuvo que regresar a Pucón para cuidar a su padre de el durante la pandemia que comenzó a trabajar en serio en lo que se convertiría en Origin of Truth.

Durante el verano Pucón se llena de turistas que disfrutan de actividades al aire libre a los pies del volcán Villarrica. Durante el invierno, sin embargo, es una historia diferente. “En invierno puede ser un lugar triste y melancólico, con vientos de hasta 120 km/hora”, dice Miraclis. "Hacía frío. Estaba lloviendo mucho. Y como mi padre era de alto riesgo, no pude ver a mucha gente durante meses. Me dediqué a escribir música, y los paisajes desolados y el aislamiento social formaron una inspiración muy fuerte para el álbum”.

Damian comenta: “Es un disco que tiene sus raíces en la música electrónica, pero es un disco muy alternativo, muy profundo, melancólico. Lo encuentro calmante y estimulante al mismo tiempo, y esa es una yuxtaposición bastante interesante en el sentido de que se siente nervioso pero delicioso al mismo tiempo. El hecho de que esto haya sido escrito en este lugar rodeado de los paisajes desérticos más increíbles hace que este sea un trabajo muy importante para mí. No se encuentra en ningún género en particular, por lo que se siente bien para un lanzamiento de Secret Teachings. Hace alusión a tantos géneros que a mí, como DJ, me gusta mucho, y se siente como el primero, ya que es único e inclasificable. Esa sensación mística, esotérica y vanguardista hace de este un lanzamiento perfecto para el sello”.

Get Physical's Roland Leesker returns to the label with a storytelling new single that comes with a remix from Confidential Recipe. 

This is Leesker's second outing on the label this year after February's timeless 'Haus Musik' package. That was the latest in a small but carefully curated series of releases from the artist who has seen recent remixes from Scan7, Terrence Parker and Francesco Tristano and never fails to infuse classic sounds with new school ideas. 

This new single is informed by a Japanese legend of the Heian Period in the late 10th century. Ibaraki-doji, a notorious Oni, resided at Rashomon Gate in Kyoto and harassed people who tried to pass through the gate until a heroic samurai named Watanabe no Tsuna subdued the creature. The battle raged on until Tsuna drew his katana and severed the arm of the demon. A few days later, an elderly woman claiming to be Tsuna's aunt came to visit him and asked her nephew to recount how he fought with the oni. Tsuna mentioned that he had Ibaraki-doji's severed arm in his possession and his aunt was curious to see it. When he revealed the arm, his aunt unveiled herself as Ibaraki-doji in disguise. She grabbed the arm and escaped from Tsuna's mansion. However, even after retrieving the arm, Ibaraki-doji never returned to dwell at Rashomon Gate again. 

The 'The Demon at Rashomon' single musically depicts this tale and comes with epic artwork that brings the story visually to life courtesy of Rio based artist Paula Lles. The record has a body-popping, electro-infused and breakbeat-driven groove that will fire up any dance floor. The bass is big and powerful and the turbulent synths, acid squelches and yelping vocals all bring a battle-ready vibe. It makes for a unique and high-impact tune from Leesker who once again co-produced this with Neil Barber at Hot Kitchen Studios in Berlin. 

Venezuela's pioneering rave ambassador Confidential Recipe remixes and brings with him a fresh mix of tech, electro and house. He has landed on labels like Rekids and RSPX and shows why here. His take is a warm, big and bouncy acid cut with silky drums and vocal yelps adding extra intensity to the groove. 

This is a brilliantly colourful package from Get Physical.
