It's a great honour for us to welcome Anu Pillai aka Freeform Five on Exploited.

Freeform Five's productions have been very influential in the past and "Brandy Alexander" is a great follow-up after all these years: An inspired mix of Prince, Blondie and Kraftwerk thrown into the acid house blender with a gracious nod to Ron Hardy.

Anu Pillai is a veteran of the dance music scene. He started to release records on the seminal labels Classic, Glasgow Underground and NRK back in 1998. He soon worked his way into the premier league of remixers, producing some of the most stunning reworks of the last decade for artists as diverse as N*E*R*D, Jamie Lidell, Justin Timberlake, Felix da Housecat and The Killers – as well as work for cutting edge labels like Warp and Cocoon.

Anu has also released Freeform Five’s debut album ‘Strangest Things’ on Atlantic records, two massive DJ mix albums, ‘Bisous Bisous II’ & ‘Misch Masch’ and contributed to several of Kitsuné’s genre defining compilations.

Following a relentless touring schedule, Anu decided to take a break from Freeform Five a few years back to concentrate on writing, producing & remixing for the likes of Ladyhawke, Santigold, Lana Del Rey, Little Boots and Roisin Murphy amongst others. He also set up boundary-pushing label Perspex Recordings with releases from Chicago legend Derrick Carter, French rockers Poney Poney /Jamaica (produced by Xavier from Justice) and Swedish auteur The Subliminal Kid (producer of Fever Ray & Matthew Dear).

Anu has always thought outside the box. His remix of Isolee’s ‘Beau Mot Plage’ redefined the art of remixing, juxtaposing the micro synthesis of the original with intricate Afro & Latin polyrhythms, creating a bona-fide house music classic. "Perspex Sex", "Electromagnetic" & "Eeeeaaooww" demonstrated how electronic experimentation can still be playful and eccentric, and it's with this same spirit that "Brandy Alexander" was created. Hand crafted with analog love on a System 100, TR808 and LM1 through a 53 series Neve.

Christian Nielsen has never been one for musical pigeonholes, but with his new 'Pull Up' EP on Pets Recordings, the Danish producer takes that ethos to its logical extreme. Two tracks. Two distinct moods. One cohesive, club-ready package.

Made not in some plush Berlin bunker but in the most democratic of studios - his kitchen, after the kids were asleep - the limited time and space, allowed Christian to focus on what really matters - the groove, the vibe, and making every sound count.

The title track, 'Pull Up', is pure peak-time propulsion: raw, rhythmic rap vocals locked tight to a driving, big room chassis, built for the kind of dancefloor moments when the energy shifts from simmer to boil. Flip it to 'Infinity', and the mood changes to melodic,   yet propulsive textures with a more a spacious arrangement that's designed for losing yourself.

'I wanted to create something that feels both nostalgic and fresh,' Nielsen says. 'The idea was to capture that spontaneous energy you get when unexpected elements collide in the right way.'

A mainstay on the label and following up his The Pursuit Special EP and the deeply personal 18.04 (dedicated to his newborn son), the Spanish producer returns with two cuts that reflect a period of transition; those moments in an artist's life when you pause mid-flow, inhale deeply, and ask: what's next

The shadowy 'Niset' leads the release. Its voice-box hook channels electro-clash memories, but the track's melodic DNA is unmistakably AFFKT.. On the flip, 'Mel' rides a purring acid line straight into a borderland where indie disco and progressive house shake hands. Steel drums shimmer over the top, adding a touch of sun-kissed warmth to its driving rhythm.

'Both tracks define where my mind is at right now,' says AFFKT. 'I've been here before, wondering what's next, but this time I feel the transition more than ever.'

The 'Uyayi' EP is AFFKT in mid-breath - steady, focused, and ready for the next move.

German-Romanian duo Frankey & Sandrino come back to Rekids with the Please EP, landing 10th October 2025 alongside a remix from Echonomist. They follow their 2022 Brainscan EP on Radio Slave’s label, as well as a remix for Denney in 2023.

With an irresistible bassline, smooth melody, and a nostalgia-fuelled vocal, Please is the kind of track you hear as you walk into a busy tent at a festival—hands in the air, energy abundant. Frankey & Sandrino are masters at crafting emotional dancefloor bangers, going a little deeper on the progressive Genie, building up to busy stabs and mind-melting, futuristic sound design.

Completing the EP, the pair call in Greek DJ and producer Echonomist to remix Please. The Innervisions and Exit Strategy artist strips the original back, transforming it into a dark, hypnotic groover built for smoke-lit dance floors.

"The original had this beautiful Depeche Mode 80s vibe, but for the remix I wanted to take it into a different space, closer to the Detroit sound I love, a bit like Carl Craig’s approach. Frankey & Sandrino are a German duo that has been shaping dance floors since 2009 with their distinct, trend-defying sound. With releases on Kompakt, Diynamic, and their own Sum Over Histories, and regular appearances at clubs like fabric and Stereo, they now return to Rekids with the Please EP.

Founded in 2006, Radio Slave’s Rekids has since launched the techno-focused Rekids Special Projects in 2017 and its latest sublabel, REK’D, in 2024. With Matt Edwards as the sole A&R, Rekids has been instrumental in developing emerging artists and remains a trusted home for house and adjacent sounds, recently featuring names such as Harry Romero, Tal Fussman, Spencer Parker, The Hacker, and more.
