Ben Diggins, the Rotterdam-based producer and Clinical Records founder, drops his second EP, landing on Infinite Pleasure. With a background in a deeply musical family, Ben is fast becoming a name to watch, earning recognition for his deep sound and clever harmonies. This release pushes his music further into hypnotic territory, pairing rolling grooves with sharp, atmospheric detail. On remix duties, Copenhagen’s B From E, fresh off his standout contribution to the Abundance Vol. 3 compilation, injects his signature drive and late-night energy, twisting the original into a floor-burning rework.

My third stab at producing electronic music. One day over a glass (bottle) of wine, a friend of mine casually joked about the motorcycle club needing an anthem. I thought it was a cool concept to work with. A week later, here you go...

Shir Khan and the illusive Exploited crew reveal the first compilation of the cultishly adored Black Jukebox series. It includes the sunniest grooves you’ve heard this year. ’Shir Khan Presents Black Jukebox Disco Jam 01’ is a soundsystem-ready disco-house jam which tickles the subwoofers beautifully and seems purpose built for eyes-wide-shut Summer terrace play in big outdoor spaces. Black Jukebox is traversing the wide spectrum of ‘dancefloor’ music.  There’s much to excite: All four tracks are built for rooftop parties with the deep V crew.
From slo-mo housed up boogie-soul, to a loft-party future classic, to a feel-good, sun-blushed, druggy, late night electric jam, to main room filtered disco house and subbass-bugged R&B…it’s all there.  It’s no wonder the Black Jukebox Vinyl series became buy-on-sight and quick to disappear. Launched in late 2011 by Shir Khan, Black Jukebox was mainly focussed on Vinyl Releases. 13 Releases later, this is the first compilation which sums up some of the best moments and features 3 tracks that were digitally never available before.

'Shir Khan's Black Jukebox is back with its 16th edition and it's all killer no filler as we'll explain. First up the EP starts off in wicked fashion with the thumping, swing fuelled groove of Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax's "I Believe" with its jazzy piano loops.. this one's definitely made to play! On the flip we've got the lo-slung deep groove of Dutchman Bas Roos' "Midnight People" that's just perfect for a 3 AM Chicago basement shut in or Bushwick loft party alike! Finally Soul Clap Records affiliated G Markus' "The Man From Planet Jazz" is indeed a jazzy little something, no doubt inspired by the Windy City Style.' (Review by JUNO) 

'Shir Khan sees out the Summer with one more V/A 4-tracker for the terraces. Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax (Robsoul) take care of the B-side while Bas Roos and G. Markus (of Soul Clap Edits) take charge of the flip. "I Believe" is filtered, piano-led feel-good house music. With a riff akin to Paul Johnson's "Get Get Down" it's actually the same sample used by the Happy Clappers tune of exactly the same name. "Scorpio" opts for a more beatdown flavoured groove as more funk and disco samples are tastefully layered in that idiosyncratic style. Onto the B-side and Bas Roos' "Midnight People" is a sultry, low-slung affair again with added filter action and plenty of soulful vocal snatches. Finally, G. Markus concludes the set with "The Man From Planet Jazz". An organic house number along the lines of Rotating Assembly or Glen Underground; rich with vibrant piano work, warm bass lively congas. Another killer set from Mr. Khan's crew. Limited edition as always.' (Review by PICADILLY RECORDS)
