'Iyewaye', Oliver Koletzki’s first release after the autobiographical I AM OK album, introduced a new facet of the artist’s sound. The EP catered to a darker and more raw aesthetic, a direction followed and deepened by the four remixes. First up is the title track 'Iyewaye', turned into a lengthy tech infused introspection by Hatzler. Loosely centered around the initial vocals, Loco & Jam’s makeover explores the track’s captivating snappy narrative. The more rhythm focused 'Ipuza' gets a special treatment from Hidden Empire who dial up the aggression of the percussion. Zakari & Blange downplay the track’s initial exotic elements, focusing on the rattling synths and giving it a late-night dancefloor rework.

Paris based Xavier Gassemann aka @donrimini started out almost 10 years ago and has been turning dancefloors on end for almost a decade. He had a huge hit with the electro/fidget house track "Let Me Back Up" back in 2008. Now, he joins forces with the power house known as @BADLQQK and drops his debut album "All In" which consists of 12 tracks of Chicago influenced house with the ultimate goal of to simply, make you dance. 

We here at Discobelle can premiere the funked up and jacking track "Hold Up" that rides a hypnotic vocal sample and some serious pads.

Dancing has been an intrinsic element of cultural development in every society on Earth, and has existed in multitudinous forms since time immemorial. For many, it is a pure expression of joy, a release of inhibition and a communal act of passion and celebration. For others however, it can induce self-consciousness and social anxiety which, combined with peer pressure or societal expectations, can lead to distress.

Fortunately, there is a solution to this predicament, thanks to the tireless efforts of a Copenhagen based Groove expert in the early 90’s. After extensive studies of dance styles throughout history, Rune Weise Kofoed was able to isolate a dance move which was not only as culturally universal as laughter, but also induced no adverse effects in even the most severe cases of dancer's anxiety. He called this move “Dorsi Plantar”, and it instantly became so popular that it was commonly performed by those who had never heard of it. Its versatility was so great that it was appropriate for every genre of music, and its execution so straightforward and intuitive that it could be achieved by dancers of all ages and skill levels. For all these reasons and more, Dorsi Plantar is now the single most common dance move anywhere in the world, and is generally recognised as being “Perfectly Normal Behavior.”

Following the success of this dance revolution, Rune has gone on to create a musical movement of the same name. Like the dance move, this music has been developed through an exhaustive search of historical material, which had been carefully recorded onto vinyl for posterity. These records were collected and combined under the name Dorsi Plantar to create a new rhythmic creation with the same universal appeal and ease of enjoyment which made his infamous move such a huge success. Now, for the first time, Kyoku Records have been given the opportunity to present Dorsi Plantar’s phenomenal creations as a collectible vinyl pressing, featuring an exclusive remix by Paxton Fettel. I've extended the intro and created an outro that starts breaking down just where the fade would have begun this way you miss not a note of the whole piece when mixing in or out. "One night while I was working in my new studio I got a little home sick because a fest that takes place down the street from my building was going on back home in Chicago. Derrick was playing and I grabbed some of the audio from the end of his set of him talking to the crowd and dropped it into 'I Get Up". "Disco Fool" was one of the only songs I made in a studio I built with an SSL desk before realizing a studio under a club was a terrible idea."

Mixmag: With an impressive back catalogue on Classic, DFA, Permanent Vacation, and his Greenskeepers project, James Curd could not be accused of being lazy. ‘I Get Up (TO DC)’ has a vintage analogue synth, elastic bass, liquid modulating acid, electronic styling’s and sliced vocals. As good as the original is this has been handed to Red Rack’Em to remix and he doesn’t have to stray too far from the original. ‘Disco Fool’ has a walking bass line and an undeniable disco feel with key bursts, smooth pad, freestyle organ, plus chat from Derrick Carter talking to the crowd that Curd sneaked in!
