James Curds’ ‘High Tower’ single gets the remix treatment. 
A team of legendary remixers line up to provide some hot reworks of ‘High Tower’. Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley is house music royalty, with hundreds of remix credits to his name, and he doesn’t disappoint here. He ups the melancholy undertones of the original with sweet electric piano, sorrowful strings and some moments of pure drama eked from the vocal climaxes. Osunlade’s Yoruba Soul mix is typically classy, stripping things back down to a soulful lilt with shimmering synth arps and tumbling bongos decking out a succinct, warm, beautiful arrangement. His Club Mix makes a beeline for tech-tinged, deep, soulful house with spacious synths and throbbing low end. Enduro Disco chunks things up with his tribal beats, undulating bass drops and atmospheric melodic sounds, drenching the track in a summery, beachy vibe with plenty of oomph supporting it.

If the good times were bottled and turned into a three track EP, ‘Euphoria’ is what we’d call it.

Direct from the brain frame of Kellerkind, a.k.a Marco Biagini, announcing his upcoming third studio album 'Mindtrip', this EP proves again why he is one of Stil vor Talent’s stalwart producers.

The titular track ‘Euphoria’ is a hip-swinging toe-tapper from the get-go. Upbeat yet downtempo, this cut is laced with junglesque samples, yet retains a perfectly calibrated atmosphere of dreamlike elation.

Stepping it up in tempo, ‘Hypnotique’ has just the right amount of repetition to draw the listener into a trance-like state, with somniferous synths and pitch-perfect vocals bringing you back to the present moment.

Uyezwa rounds off the EP with an exotic flavour: the divine vocals of Zimbabwean Oluhle accompanying Kellerkind’s masterful production. The lyrics describe the feeling of a heart in pain, reminding us that to speak is to heal, to let it pass.

Distilling the essence of extreme happiness, and tempering it with a heady dose of realism, this EP is a must-listen for those with a penchant for full-spectrum sonic experience.

PREMIERE: Belljack - 불행한 [FILTH003]

The return of our VA series is marked with the new chapter ‘Freaky Friends Volume 1’ featuring the likes of P.Leone,
Nasty King Kurl, Sentient State, Ole Mic Odd, Dj Swagger, and Main Phase.

The Berlin-based label has been going strong since its founder - Australian DJ and producer Dj Whipr
Snipr - launched it in 2016, with recent genre-spanning releases traversing acid, house, breaks, and
electro from artists such as DJ Bowlcut, Low Tape, Soela, Subjoi, Interplanetary Criminal, J.Albert, DJ
Safeword, Anthony Fade, and many more. Nerang now invites six quality artists for its most ambitious
release yet to inaugurate the imprint’s ‘Freaky Friends’ series.
E-Missions founder and Rekids regular P.Leone leads the way with a thudding breaks number called
‘Parting Currents’. A rumbling bassline is later joined by lush pads and a hammering piano melody
destined to rocket listeners into new heights. Following appearances on 777 Recordings and Low
Income Squad, Nasty King Kurl is next with a raw sounding ‘Lawless’ - a syncopated cut that blends
acid and electro with Memphis rap and R&B.
In fine form off the back of releasing on Hilltown Disco and 99cts RCRDS, Nerang veteran Ole Mic Odd
brings a sweaty Ghetto House stomper named ‘Hydro Anthem’ complete with a gritty acid bassline and
Pointdexter-esque chopped vocals, making way for Sentient State’s ‘4 Tha Freaks’ which exhibits the
New York-based artist’s softer side as he layers lush pads on top of a stripped back electro rhythm for
pure euphoria.
With releases on Natural Sciences, Who’s Susan and E-Beamz, Germany-based producer Dj Swagger
ups the energy, clocking in with the compilation’s fastest track in a bouncing Chicago House inspired
cut entitled ‘The Phone Talky’. Tying it all together, Warehouse Raves and ec2a artist Main Phase’s ‘Get
Higher’ is a punchy UK garage track complete with thudding 909 kicks, purring bass, fluttering vocals
and rave stabs.

Originally from Brisbane, and having released music on Nerang Recordings and Inhale Exhale, DJ Dream Machine has chosen to hone his talents in the frostier climates of nipaluna/Hobart.

His stellar track 'Think About U', featured as part of our recent compilation Neu Hörizöns Vol. I [NH001], has racked up 10,000+ listens across Soundcloud and Youtube. The track combines shimmering glissandos with well-tuned breaks, and straddles the line between club track and heady home listen perfectly. A rotor-reverie beat that's intersected by a throwback vocal; it's a shining example of what's heating up in our southernmost city.

Only U [NH004] fires the first shot with its title track; infused with the belief that you're the greatest dancer, set amongst the smoke and haze of a antipodean dance-floor. 'A4Pad' features breathy shimmering synth lines riding on top of a driving breaks pattern. The offbeat hi-hats and grounded rhythm of 'Deep Breath' invokes cruising round on ice buggies by Davis Station. The release is rounded out by the infectious 'B is for Bubble', which echoes back to the 90's dance music scene in Brisbane.
