The first representing this “new” sound for us is Umut Akalin with his Smoke Machines & Laser Rays EP, this is the perfect choice as the EP represents exactly what we’re talking about. Title track Smoke Machines & La ser Rays is the perfect mix of Nu Disco, Deep House Bass & Garage. Bumping along with it’s high end zaps, lush key changes, pads, strings and a killer vocal which for us stinks of summer nights dancing in hazed out smokey rooms. Next up is Umut’s first single with us from our Future Sleaze series Forever You & Me. This track is such an amazing piece, pure musicality and deep throbbin’ sexiness. The amazing vocals will truly take you away with it’s love story and instant flowing hypnotic synths. Sleazy Deep artists Saccao & Lou Van decided to team up next for their remix of Smoke Machines & Laser Rays. Taking a sexier & nu skool turn with its lush guitar licks, smooth bass and sleazy deep feel. Marco Tegui is a name popping up on many labels now, his deep house sound is catching the attention of many and it’s not surprising why, deep & sophisticated house music at it’s finest. His first r emix for us is Forever You & Me taking a much deeper club approach to the original with it’s heavy hitting bass, pianos and keys keeping the mood just right for the vocals. Tamer Akgul steps in for Smoke Machines & Laser Rays next with his big bass & nu disco deep edge providing another perfect version of a great track. Back to Forever You & Me and the HUGE talents of our Sleazy G main man, Vanilla Ace! Expect a UK bass house vibe this time around perfect for the modern floors of today. Marco’s back now taking Smoke Machines & Laser Rays into Tegui’s deeper world of house. Big phat bass and organs riding along lush strings to accompany the vocal perfectly. The man that represents the deeper side of Amsterdam house is back on Dirt Crew. His last outing on Detroit Swindle’s “Heist Recordings”, the “Le Troubadour EP” was another fine example of that laid back funky deep house only Nachtbraker can squeeze out.

Settling into the groove immediately is ‘Hump’, bouncing chords and a warbling Rhodes lead into an irresistible bass line. The title track, ‘Backstabber’ hits right in the hips, a chugging feel good work out for the dance floor. The flip remains true to the flavor of this whole EP, offering up a massive speaker rattling bottom end and funk flavored keys on ’Time Is Of The Essence’, while ’Monday Mourning’ steps up with expertly cut disco samples, an effervescent excursion with a jazzy lead and a touch of vocoder for good measure. The release is rounded out with digi only offering ‘Yaaa’, a sub driven deep house work out, boasting swelling loops and hypnotic percussion.

Nachtbraker’s sharp sense of harmony and knack for vibe is ever present throughout this whole release, he has truly fine tuned his sound to a perfect balance of unbounded energy and stylish musicianship. We are happy to welcome him back on Dirt Crew with this classy release.

FHUO Records or For Heaven Use Only (@forheavenuseonly-records) is a new record label founded by @Folamour, who is also a co-founder of the widely successful @Moonrise-Hill-Material and a very talented producer in his own right. The forthcoming first release is a various artist EP and is titled "L'Homme ne descend pas du singe mais du bruit” translated to Man didn’t descend from monkeys but from noise. The tagline on the Soundcloud page reads “no informations needed”, which we assume means let the music do the talking.

One of the four tracks on the EP is by fellow MHM co-founder Victor Dijoud aka @kaffecreme, who released Moonrise Hill Material’s highly sought after second record. “Baciami Subito” is proof again that the Lyon based producer and multi-instrumentalist is able to elegantly merge samples with his own sound to create something unique.

The release will be out in November, be sure to add this one to your collection as soon as its available!

The White Tapes EP of new @secretreels features three original tracks by Kian T (@kiantmusic) and a B side remix by Dutch wizard Daniel Leseman (@danielleseman), which we have the pleasure of premiering here today. 

Daniel takes the original, raw vibes of “Flughafen” and flips it on its feet into a clean-cut, sanguine affair. His signature warm chords and brassy synths are front and center, turning the spacey, atmospheric elements and twinkly keys taken from the original into complementary background pieces. A not too busy, club-oriented groove with hand drums, muted cowbells, crisp hats and jazzy rides gives the melodic elements room to breathe and helps solidify the track as one you’re sure to dance to in the near future.

@tlimshug is behind the wheel for BODO004 (@bobby-donny) and we have an exclusive preview of the A2 track, “Wig Split”. True to form, Tlim Shug sticks to the lo-fi sound that has made him one of the well known names in the now booming trend. A DJ Smokey sampled and looped hip-hop vocal with a simple yet contagious and haunting keyboard melody form the backbone of the track. Low-passed hats and claps paired with crushed toms and snares form the no-frills four on the floor beat while a beefy bassline drives the song. Massive Attack - Inertia Creeps (Uone School Edit)

It was fitting that Brazilian-born, Austria-based artist Joyce Muniz broke through in an era characterised by the cross-pollination and globalisation of music. Initially combining the sounds and rhythms of her home country with contemporary European electronic sounds, she later morphed into a house / techno producer of the highest calibre. Along the way she worked with the likes of Maya Jane Coles and Viennese legends Kruder & Dorfmeister and released on influential imprints like 2020 Vision and Shir Khan’s Exploited. It’s the latter which has been her main platform for releasing music since 2011 and where she now unleashes her full-length debut album, Made In Vienna. 

The album showcases the latest evolution of her sound, moving her from the dancefloor into a space somewhere between the club and the home, aided by a slew of perfectly crafted vocals.“This album took almost two years to make” she reveals. “I met a lot of people during my tours. I also brought a lot of people to Vienna to work with me.” Her symbiotic relationship with the Austrian capital sees her put in as much as she takes out of it. She is part of the fabric of the city’s musical scene, from her show on national radio station FM4 to her residency at the sadly deceased Pratersauna. 

With a long gestation period and a cast of collaborators picked up through her journeys across the world, Made In Vienna is a record that embodies Muniz’s recent life and experiences, and makes it all the more personal and charismatic as a result. “It’s hard to say what this album is” she elaborates on the record’s identity. “I can imagine people dancing to it in the club but also in the car, or hearing it on the radio or at home. I think it really depends of the mood of the listeners.” Indeed, with the lines between the clubs and the radio blurrier than ever, her approach to this debut record couldn’t be better suited to 2016. 

Kat Vinter’s honeyed vocal on Cover Me Up gets the album going in fine style, countered by male singer Knixx’s soulful delivery on Drop In Pressure as a follow-up. 
Simple Poetry shows she doesn’t rely on vocals to make a captivating track, however, with lush chords pulsing over a succinct arrangement. Wake Beside You shows her prowess in the b-line department with Christa Vi’s higher registers providing the perfect counterbalance to the phat bottom end. Hide with Enequist takes her musicality to new heights with gliding harmonies and xylophones and Human Life collaboration Deeper takes the melodies into a moodier place. Gotta Love It is one of her typically guttural, low-slung club workouts. Daydreaming provides a gently pumping and euphoric groove. After this comes Angelique Bianca’s sultry tones on the techy Wehbba co-production Sleepless, and her Kraftwerk-sampling single Back In The Days with Jungle Brothers legend Bam’s inimitable hip-house stylings showing what a diverse range of sounds and songs Muniz is able to eke out of the house/techno template. Album closer Silent Crime presents the album’s most delicate and fragile moment. 

It’s not easy to make a cohesive, convincing album that marries the best of both worlds, but Joyce Muniz has done in seemingly effortless fashion.
