This new material marks a stage of maturity both personally and sonically, blending electronic depth with subtle details and a constant energy. Each track reflects the artist’s process of transformation, while at the same time retaining his distinctive style.

The EP is completed by a remix from Alex Oprea, which adds a cinematic atmosphere, with an energetic and captivating groove.

Berlin/Panama-based brothers K.E.E.N.E. have been making a name for themselves with their brooding, slow-building afro house / tech chuggers, but on this release for Exploited they show their love for strong vocals and sorrowful melody.

A dizzying flurry of synth arpeggio teases as throbbing monotone bass carves its way between the shuffling shaker patterns. A minor piano chord progression builds an introspective vibe as the atmospheric male vocal paints a picture of a man pining for his departed lover. Cleverly-deployed FX blurs the edges, delayed hits and stuttering white noise adding energy. A rolling conga rhythm laces the heady breakdown as the fizzing synths tingle their way up your spine. You begin to notice other subtle touches like the slightly warped detune effect on the piano chords and hazy synth washes that tease the background of the track. It's a testament to their skills as producers and arrangers, cutting away the fat to produce slick, impactful dancefloor monsters time and time again.

With its relentless beat, impassioned-yet-restrained vocal and gorgeous atmospheric touches, ‘Missing Point’ could just be K.E.E.N.E.’s most impressive work to date, and one that shows they have a very exciting future ahead.

An outlet founded originally to release his own productions across the house and techno sphere, Butane’s home imprint Extrasketch now houses an extensive body of work from the San Francisco-based talent.  The catalog has heretofore displayed the expansive depth and range of his solo musical stylings across the electronic spectrum as it enters its third year. Having now recently welcomed longtime friend Andras Toth as the first guest collaborator on the label, we see Butane continue to open the label to collaborative efforts here as he pairs up with regular studio partner Riko Forinson following their releases on Deeperfect, Little Helpers, SCI+TEC, Lapsus, and Moan.  With this, the duo reveals a selection of darker collaborative club cuts in the form of ‘Equilibrium’. 

A far-reaching package containing eight tracks, ‘Equilibrium’ offers up Butane and Riko’s most extensive body of work to date; one which is impressive throughout in its diversity of atmospheres.  From the blossoming, emotive sequences of the opening piece ‘The Sad Song’, through the more melodic territories found in ‘Riffraff’ and ‘Get Into My Groove’, the release uncovers a collection of works that span both genres and moods, while focusing on the overarching Extrasketch ethos of delivering functional and quality club records.  ‘Primadonna’ offers a hooky, driving tech house workout with a damaging bassline.  ‘Anxiety’ strips things back to focus on delicate melodies, hazy atmospherics, and somber psychedelic reflection.  ‘All In My Head’ incorporates Butane’s trademark subversive, tripped-out vocals, before the duo wraps up the EP with the slick floating textures of ‘Tripping’ and the sparse, infectiously appropriate closer ‘Inside’.  Butane & Riko Forinson in fine form indeed.

Rogue D makes a return to Crosstown Rebels sister label Rebellion, following up his 2019 collaboration with Memoryman. The ​Burning EP f​ eatures three tracks that demonstrate his penchant for groove and diversity.

Danny Minchella aka ​Rogue D explains ​“the idea behind Burning was to create an EP using disco samples but with a raw house flavour, including killer basslines and captivating vocals. I hope the tracks capture this feeling and will have people moving on the dancefloor!”

Burning o​ pens with high-octane house music, a simple and gripping bassline commands attention, as powerful and direct vocals are injected into an unrelenting rhythm of absorbing energy.
