Treading throughout the infinite oasis of cultural electronica since 1995,  DJ/producer and Mood Lounge night club owner - Shahrokh - presents his exquisite original mix of atmospheric house and lovestruck synth-driven jams.

Sharokh's stand-out point is his eclectic blend of influences from his Iranian childhood and German upbringing; a concoction many DJs can't offer. He's gone on releasing on labels such as Black Flame Records and Caus-N’-ff-ct Records, and his distinctive approach that caught the attention of artists such as Jazzanova, Carl Craig, Hans Nieswandt, DJ Deep, King Britt, Charles Webster, Peter Kruder and many more. He's also the esteemed nightclub owner of Mood Lounge, a club that once hosted artists such as Âme and many of the previously mentioned. He usually spends the summer time in the southern territories of Europe - and was this year already part of the Sonar Festival Off-week in Barcelona. You can catch him at the upcoming ADE in Amsterdam and within the bounds of the party circuit in Ibiza.

The return of time travelling disco afficionados Space Echo is immanent, and their 3rd contribution to the Luv Shack catalogue is a very special one indeed. The three tracks on the 'Rare Function EP' are boasting with dusty 70s blues magic!

The first track 'Go Down' is somewhat more akin to earlier Space Echo tracks, with a disco loop that steadily builds in the background, funky house drumming and a big beefy bassline. However the gospel vocals and the evolving synth strings in the second break take ' Go Down' to another level of dancefloor goodness.

'Rare Function' sees Space Echo take a moody excursion into southern funk. With an insanely addictive rhodes hook, shimmering strings and a soothing vocal line that hits right in the guts, this piece is well suited to liven up any house set. 

The final track is called 'Rainbow Power' and its probably the most uncanny Space Echo track to date. Its a full on party rendition of a lesser known early 70s funk piece that just blasts off after being introduced to a fat acid line! 

The EP is a testament to the musical development of the Space Echo project and we're excited to hear what the future holds.

"If you like your grooves funk-fuelled and analog, then look no further than James Curd’s rather glorious triple track ep. ‘Checking Out NYC’ is a growling plucked bass, tight vocal cries, trickling keys and a spoken word vocal for extra cool. The piano chords go to church, amping up the energy all the way, whilst the 303s add that acid burble that gives rave reflux a good name. ‘Vertigo’ is a crisp snare and bungee bassline dance off that will make the old skool househeads lose their shit and make the nu-schoolers green with nu-acid house envy. What marks it out from the acid house wish they weres is that it layers on a tropical steel drum top line that is so beautifully musical and hooky that you can’t help but love it. Like the lyric says ‘At first I’m feeling high, then i’m feeling low, i’m trying to keep my focus, feels like vertigo’… We live this out on the dancefloor. It speaks to us. It gets my vote for this lyric alone. ‘Dance and Dash’ is an upbeat treat with double bass, 808s, bottle hits and steel drums going in and hard at it with the odd vocal whoop just for fun. James Curd has been busy with scoring and supervising movie soundtracks in the last months but finally found time to deliver new music. He has been collaborating with Filip from Daytime Discoact Poolside from LA as well as Chicago Legend DJ Deeon. Upcoming releases include cult Chicago label Trax Records, Repopulate Mars (Lee Foss’ new label - including mixes from Lee Foss himself and Felix Da Housecat), Eskimo, Sweat It Out and us: Exploited:) We can’t clearly remember how many Old Chi Acid House Tracks he sent us but in the end here are the 3 tracks we chose.
