As our journey continues to unfold, so does the ever growing number of touchpoints and interpersonal links. Always on the lookout for those to share the Solide vision, we are happy to bring Buenos Aires duo This & That into the fold with their first solo EP ‘1000s’.
Speaking volumes for the sunny shores of their home city, This & That have clear sympathies for warming, dusky rollers and infectious rhythmic arrangements. ‘1000s’ EP holds two tracks within that each set the perfect scene for late night grooves.
On the one side ‘Tunel’ pushes bright, emotive tones with rippling percussive arrangements and the angelic vocals of ​Meri Lorenzo. Whereas ‘Tears In Rain’ delves a little deeper, pairing down a moody shuffle in the kick with pensive synth tones and pensive stabs.

Anims announces its debut release, recruiting Ibiza mainstay Oriol Calvo and remixes from Kevin di Serna and Valentin Huedo.

Inspired by the energy of open-air parties on the White Isle, the first release on the freshly minted Anims imprint comes from previous resident of both Space Ibiza and Privilege, Oriol Calvo. An homage to long Balearic summers, ‘Love Loud’ features vocals from LMNL, the new project from Simon Batten, atop a driving and hypnotic production.
Following appearances on Innervisions, Watergate, and All Day I Dream, Argentinian DJ/producer Kevin di Serna delivers an emotive remix, adding his deft touch to the original’s lyrical melodies, harmonies, and
atmospherics. Rounding out the release, Ibiza’s Valentin Huedo turns in a deep and chugging remix, incorporating LMNL’s vocals into a rolling cut with sharp snares and pounding kick drums.

Anims is a multi-faceted entertainment platform founded by ex-Formula 1 racer Jaime Alguersuari, now international DJ/producer Squire. It encompasses an event brand for interactive conferences and talks (virtual and physical), musical events, and an imprint for genre-free electronic music.

Love Loud (Kevin Di Serna Remix)

Long overdue we welcome @love-over-entropy back on Lossless. Michel’s Antipodes EP is slightly different than what you’d expect from him without sacrificing his deep and hypnotic trademark sound. Typically a Love over Entropy release would be full of little details, tiny rhythmical changes, plenty of automation and small breaks but this one is different hence the name Antipode. Draw a line from any place on Earth through the center of the Earth and its diametrically opposite would be its antipode. Do you still follow? Good!

Antipode I (My Discotom is bigger than yours) grows from the same seed as the original but reminds more of early Chicago house grooves and adds a spaced-out Discotom that beautifully guides through its 6:35. Endless groove.

You can always count on Kotelett to serve up some vibrant melodic monsters, and the follow-up to his latest ‘I Got Something For You’ EP for Exploited Ghetto has now been remixed by the always-amazing Lauer, of Tuff City Kids, Black Spuma and indeed Lauer fame.
Lauer’s remix is as scorching as you might expect it. He extracts the drive and texture of the central bassline motif, and showers it in heavenly chords, blissful riffage and slick electro percussion. A few licks of gentle acid bathe the track in additional warmth, taking you on a trip back to the early ‘90s in softly euphoric style.

Rising Italian talent Packim is very much one to watch.
He presents an absolute pearler of a debut for Exploited here in the form of ‘Super Future’.

‘Super Future’ is a sleek little plumper of a track, drenched in Italo disco heritage. Its playful offbeat bassline and 8-bit computer game motifs are set against a punchy, authentically old skool beat. The bassline morphs into a buzzing, jittering groove while an analog synth plays out a bittersweet melody that glides beautifully in the upper reaches of the track. The pitter-patter of hi-hats creates the urgency, while FX risers push the energy further, and the arrangement is kept suitably varied to ensure that the track feels like a living, breathing thing that will readily consume any worthy dancefloor. 

You very much get the sense from this track that Packim has really studied his electronic music history to a tee, and that he has a brilliant knack for taking the sounds of yesteryear and updating them with a modern, sophisticated twist. More please!
