GYRL — Chameleon

The one to kick off our new imprint will be the Bulgarian hardware wizard KiNK. Best known for his live performances, teemed with explosive energy, which for a consecutive year puts him to the number one spot of live acts on RA Poll, he is also one of house’s most in demand producers. KiNK has worked with DGTL for quite some time, including last year’s audiovisual installation ‘Transmission Tower’, where the first track ‘Neutrino’ was born. 

The melodic 'Neutrino', kicks off with syncopating bassline. Its interconnecting layers organically jump over and under each other, reflecting the organic character of KiNK’s live performances, where every knob touch and turn matters. On the latter, he built the B-sider 'Dynamo': "I loaded my favourite element from Neutrino in my computer and I tweaked the sound through various weird devices in my studio, till it sounded like a completely new track." As usual, he added a few endless loops on the record, "for the adventurous DJs", exclusively for the 12''.

Shir Khan's back with his trusty team of terrace-friendly edit specialists, alchemy masters of turning the raw ore of disco's past into soundsystem ready house bangers for the outdoor summer parties! James Jackson & Siege are first to step up to the cauldron, throwing in one of the catchiest coastal disco tracks ever into the pot, adding some woodblock (yes!) and applying some gentle low pass filter which teases in the track beautifully. Tiptoes reworks some low slung jazz funk business into a midtempo roller, perfect for that lazy walk to the bar while you top up your margarita or daiquiri, stopping off for a chat with some sexy looking ladies / gents on the way.... Illyus & Barrientos takes us firmly through to late night action on "Bare Fruits" - instantly transporting us to some Iberian sweatbox where the party never stops; and "You Says" which takes us through back into the sunrise and into the next day of holiday partying. One of the biggest summer house hits in the history of club music was SO MANY TIMES, originally performed by "Gadjo" featuring the vocals of "Alexandra Prince" in 2003. German based DJ, producer and vocalist SANDY DAE created an outstanding cover version of this classic. This is actually the first cover version ever approved by the publisher and the original writers.
On the remix duty we wanted to have someone on board who can even give this track another lift and so we choose FORT ARKANSAS to give it a try. The youngsters came up with a very fresh jacking house remix that still got that funky party feeling, that makes you wanna dance, in the breakdowns and represents the vibes throughout.
A perfect summer pack in our opinion. Make it your special anthem and dance the nights away.
