After last year’s European Summer smash ‘Canto Del Pilon’, German house giants MILK & SUGAR return with their addictive new single ‘Ready Or Not’, a call-back to their roots of funk, soul and disco music.

Whilst sampling the classic ‘Ready or Not Here I Come’, originally by The Delfonics but perhaps most known from The Fugees 1996 version, Milk and Sugar have taken the hook and transformed it into a sure fire summer anthem. Built on the foundations of a heavy bassline, a string and 70-Brass lick ‘Ready or Not’ is driven by the powerful voices of upcoming British R’n’B singer Taisa Bennet.

Working together for almost twos decades, Milk & Sugar have enjoyed great success as DJ's, producers and label owners and have been honoured with several golden records, as well as the German and Italian DJ Award. I immediately fell in love with singer Stealth’s tremendous vocals. I liked the originals deep and techy direction, but wanted to bring my own flavor to the track. The vocals bring a polished, commercial feeling, which I worked to support with uplifting piano accompaniment and an uplifting breakdown. With the drop, I tried to find a cool middle ground between clubby deep house and easy listening music. The track was a pleasure to make, and I really hope you guys enjoy it too!

A loosely hewn sliver of emotion constructed just a smidgeon off grid, there's a natural momentum as we're thrust deep inside a vociferous synth hook that rises unapologetically, gradually taking us to a surprise pivot. From here the articulation switches, a whole layer of weight and emphasis on the riff opens up and your crowd won't just elevate, they'll levitate.
