Following his "Hill / In Your Heart" EP on Silk Music, a collaboration with Bring Bliss, Russian producer Pavel Denisov is back with a 4-track EP, "Misterium".

The title track takes off with a deep and hypnotizing groove, later accompanied by intriguing female vocal stems. Throughout the song, numerous subtle melodic additions provide extra texture that mixes perfectly with the lush vocal effects. A rather mesmerizing atmosphere is quickly established in "Caldera", featuring a strong groove and powerful bassline notes. Light melodies and lush sound effects add an extra level of detail to the song. In "Dream Of You", we witness a soothing soundscape with an incredibly funky groove and refreshing vocal lines. Rounding out the release, "Continuum" features a hypnotic groove and dramatic sound effects, as well as evocative synth elements.

This in itself built part of an ever spoken story of which there were no facts, just ideas, references and make believe. Enchantment was Oshala, it was everywhere, in the tales of a dream, the plans of a scheme. Oshala was whatever you made it to be, and that was a thing of great beauty and yet, peril. 

Seven Davis Jr has curated a compilation for R2 UK. Titled 'Future Society' it contains a collection of forward thinking, diverse music which he has personal belief and trust in, much of it previously unheard. We have opted to premiere the track from Cervo of Banana Hill which features tropical percussion and driven rythmic energy throughout.

Shine up a quarter, the Black Jukebox is back! Shir Khan presents a quartet of disco house killers on the fifteenth edition of this floor pleasing, ass teasing series. Taking the controls for the A-side are Glasgow duo Illyus & Barrientos, who slap us with a pair of sleazy strollers primed for the peak time. Armed with the finest rolling bassline you're likely to hear this year, "Camel Brother" kicks the EP off in fine style, taking a groove+vocal sample approach reminiscent to Oliver $'s "Doin' Ya Thing", but with a little extra pizzazz and fx use. Things kick up a little bit for "Just Bad Shit", a fist pumping disco house bomb complete with thick, throbbing bass, tight and toppy guitar licks and mind melding spoken vocals. It's one of those cuts which keeps on giving, building to 'huge tune' status as the searing strings and crowd noise flood the frequencies. Over on the flip, Purple Disco Machine (me neither) teams up with synth wizard Lorenz Rhodes, who takes a break from tour duties with Jamie Lidell and Detroit Swindle to bring his intergalactic synth skills to "Birds". A far out fusion of classic house keys, Blaxploitation guitars and samba influences, this jam should do serious damage on the sweatier floors this summer, especially when the breakdown rolls into town. Dayne S takes the controls for the B2, bringing down the curtain with heart lifting sounds of "In The Streets". Walking the tightrope between thwacking beats and gentle melody, Dayne drops intricate soul guitar over wall shaking percussion before taking a keyboard for a walk in the latter stages.Do yourself a favor and pick it up before this limited collector’s item sells out.

J Paul Getto’s ‘Love Freek’ lands via Glasgow Underground on 15th July, and we’ve got the exclusive premiere of Kevin McKay’s remix above, which is primed to rock day-parties across the summer.

Boston-based house supremo Getto recently turned in a huge remix of McKay’s ‘What U Want’, so the Glasgow Underground boss has returned the favor, amping up the groove and layering delicious pads over an additional vocal.

Speaking about the remix, McKay said, “When I was remixing ‘Freek’, something weird happened. I meant to import some drums from another track I was working on and I ended up importing the vocal. Magically they sat perfectly and so I sent the result to Getto and he was into it. I know it’s not quite in the same league as Paul McCartney waking from a dream to record ‘Yesterday’, but I was pretty pleased with it.”

A former editor and gurnalist at DJ Mag, Joe Roberts has spent two decades sliding around the ridiculous/sublime continuum of rave and club culture, from DJing at a rundown (but occupied) motel in downtown Detroit to playing alongside New York club royalty three floors below the streets of Brooklyn and supporting Fatboy Slim in the Brazilian rainforest. 

A weekly resident at Dalston Superstore's late-night Wednesday dance party Uncontrollable Urge, alongside Emma, Teamy and Will, and at Jim Warboy's bi-monthly techno leaning Sabajaq at Egg LDN, he's also one half of production duo Local Group. Residents at UK festival Field Maneuvers, playing garage, hardcore and jungle, their debut Radio 1 supported EP came out this spring on New York label Get Up! Recordings and spawned Beatport's best selling track on the label.

Launching in December is a new queer party, Mouth To Mouth, alongside Nick Powell and Sadie Haque, aka A boy From Outer Space.
