Hailing from Liege in Belgium, David Body has been put on our radar with releases on the fine Endless Music — but this EP for Exploited’s Black Jukebox series looks set to propel him to a new level. 

‘I Bird You’ is a seriously charming affair, led by a colourful, sugary-sweet refrain that twinkles and sparkles in cute fashion. A warm deep house groove crafted through swirling Rhodes chords builds the vibe before the flowery melody explodes into life, pushing the track into an altogether more magical direction.

‘Jack Me Baby’ channels rubbery bass and a galloping house beat, with minor piano chords creating a dramatic feel as a classic vocal sample whoops away in delight. The enormous snare-rolled propelled build-up thrusts the track into overdrive, with a delightful, balmy synth line woven in to provide a mystical counterbalance. 

‘The Talking Mouettes’ is a supremely feel-good slab of Balearic-tinged house, with choice piano chords cut up and cascading over a high-energy groove. Big squelchy melodic bass wiggles under the chords and shoulder-popping chime riff, with plenty of power and punch scattered throughout to keep the vibes rolling.

‘Endless Love’ is an absolute monster to close the EP, a soaring, triumphant electro beauty that overflows with euphoric melody and ecstatic, eyes-closed-and-rolling tingles. It just keeps building and building through layer upon layer of synth mastery to an explosive, epic climax.

Born in 1986, lulled by the 80s tones, David Body began his little DJ career with italo disco influences in 2007.
He then surfed the wave of nu-disco with projects like Pleasure Machines and La Disco Mafia before starting a solo carrier in 2014.
Resident DJ of the big club Le Cadran in Liege, he has the chance to share the desk with the biggest names : Miss Kittin, Booka Shade, Etienne de Crecy, Mr Oizo, Jennifer Cardini, Yuksek, The Magician, Charlotte de White...
His ears are now ready to compose their own sounds, always with these very synthesized 80s italo vibes.
Very influenced by artists such as Tensnake, Ten Ven or The Swiss, he launched his discography in 2020 with the Belgian label Kadett Musik.
Other releases followed on Endless Music, Ripe Pear Records, Mélopée Records, Full Flight Records, Discoscuro Factory Records...
And he does not intend to stop there ...

A decade into shaping careers of artists like Claptone, Adana Twins, Joyce Muniz and Budakid, he continues to remain on the pulse of the global underground shaping dance music through his label, productions and unconventional, uncompromising and unpredictable sets. 

Shir Khan established his label night at Berlin’s Watergate over the years, did a groundbreaking weekly radioshow at Radio Fritz for over 8 years whilst regularly touring all over the world. He is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand. 
His music is exciting and full of amazing tracks that you most likely will not have heard before.
In 2016 Shir Khan released the album compilation ’Dancing & Romancing’ to great critical press acclaim.
Label boss Shir Khans excellent A&R skills proceed him by this point, but taking stock of just a fraction of what hes signed along the way really drives his reputation home. From breaking Claptone as an unknown artist to helping him become one of the biggest-selling names in dance music to introducing the world to other major players like Adana Twins, Doctor Dru and Joyce Muniz, he has unearthed a staggering amount of talent in such a short space of time. Shir Khan’s  trusty team of terrace-friendly edit specialists, alchemy masters of turning the raw ore of disco’s past into soundsystem ready house bangers for the outdoor summer parties has seen wide support from big DJs such as Solomun, Bicep, Soul Clap, Tiger & Woods, Jamie Jones, Loco Dice, Tensnake, Pete Tong, Laurent Garnier, Eats Everything, David August and many more.
Shir Khan furthermore launched the Secret Gold series on Exploited which features extended family members and a new sub-label Exploited Ghetto NOW Exploited Club.
