This week we will explore the world of bitcoin and other cyber-currencies and how criminals and cyber crooks victimize the uninformed public. Gangs, cartels and sophisticated criminals use cyber-currency, ponzi schemes and investments to launder money around the globe. Few of us truly understand how quickly and easily we can fall prey to cyber-fraud and/or become a link in a global money laundering scheme.

Our guest this week will be Lynn Edgington Founder and President of Eagle Research Associates, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Southern California. He is also the author of, “Robbing You with a Keyboard Instead Of A Gun - Cyber Crime How They Do It.”

Lynn works with law enforcement around the globe to assist in cyber-crime investigations involving crypto-currencies and cyber financial fraud. Born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Florence, Alabama, John Lee is a graduate of the University of North Alabama (B.S., Sociology & English); the University of Alabama (M.A., American Studies & Religious Studies); and the University of Texas (Ph.D. Candidate in American Studies). Lee served as an instructor at the University of Texas, Austin Community College and University of Alabama before becoming a writer, best-selling author, and public speaker, and is currently teaching again at Austin Community College.

He has been featured on Oprah Winfrey (three times), 20/20, Barbara Walter’s The View, CNN, PBS, and NPR, and has been interviewed by Newsweek, Glamour, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and dozens of other national and international magazines and radio talk shows. His highly creative developments in anger management workshops, PEER Counseling seminars, mini-sessions, and the Detour Method (lecture and workshop series on facing regression), are taught worldwide. His Mentone Alabama Men’s Conference drew participants from around the world for over ten years.

Over the past thirty years, John Lee has consulted and trained prestigious institutions in the clinical environment. Human Trafficking and Child Pornography expert, Opal Singleton, has educated tens of thousands of first responders, government agencies, civic leaders, school administrators, medical personnel, faith-based organizations,  parents and grandparents about how predators operate and how to prevent young people from becoming victims of exploitation. Opal is an Instructor at USC, Sol Price Institute for Safe Communities. She sits on the Board of Directors for Rapha House International and has lived and worked in Cambodia combating child sex trafficking.

She is the President and CEO of Million Kids and serves as the Training and Outreach Coordinator for the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force and is contracted for human trafficking training services through the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department through a Department of Justice Contract.
