“Much of the music that I tinker with is loop-based. The possibilities are infinite, which is what attracts me to the experiments. In the spring of 2009, I toured with two absolutely amazing musicians, Stefano Pilia (guitar, electronics), and Andrea Belfi (drums, percussion, electronics). In For Resonance, I manipulated those source recordings using a sequence of random patterns. No additional sounds were added, but the collage itself creates a new, unheard presence.”

Jeffrey Alexander: For Resonance

Vanguard Valkyrie is a 3D virtual reality space-shooter game being developed by Zero Transform, a newly formed independent studio focused on using the latest VR technology to make games that are innovative, beautiful, and truly immersive. 

I'm proud to be working again with my friend Justin Moravetz, having previously contributed to his amazing VR debut, Proton Pulse. I will be handling the soundtrack and sound design for Vanguard Valkyrie alongside the incredible guitarist and chiptune composer, Dan "Danimal Cannon" Behrens. It's going to be a wild ride.

The title theme features the vocal talents of Jessie Seely and the recording / engineering talents of Robert Altschuler at Command Studios in Valencia, CA.

MAZE OF GAMES: The Second Path - Nomad

The background music from the first stage of Vanguard V, an incredible VR space-shooter in development by Zero Transform, for Oculus Rift and other fine head-mounted 3D display systems. 

Since the stages are linear and follow a set timeline, I know ahead of time where all the dramatic hits will be, and can score each stage as one would score a film, allowing for extreme dynamic range. 

This is, obviously, an unusual way to score a game, and it's an AWESOME treat.
