“Techno is a genre known for its dark and powerful sound, but even in a sphere dedicated to no-holds-barred production, Dax J’s tracks stand out as particularly robust and intense.

Take ‘The Wonk’, from his most recent EP ‘The Invisible Man’, which lays down a tough low-end that ploughs forward with relentless energy. A frantic outer texture sounds like an accordion made out of titanium alloy, quivering in-and-out to disorientating effect. It’s a face-melting cut that that bends the mind of any dancefloor that hears it. Last month he took dancers in Berghain through to Monday afternoon with a 10-hour closing set which was undoubtedly transcendental.

The producer is based in Europe’s techno capital Berlin nowadays, but travelling back to his teen years spent listening to d’n’b and jungle while growing up in London provides insight into his vigorous approach to production.

Dax took up DJing aged 15 as a hobby that soon turned into an obsession. He would gather with friends on school playgrounds to listen to Kool FM radio recordings on their walkmens, until he could no longer confine his passion to break times and would skip lessons to shop for vinyl at Black Market Records in Soho.

Looking for an outlet to publicly air the wax he was buying by the shedload, he came into contact with one of the founders of the Time FM pirate radio station and pestered him with phone calls for a month until he was offered a show. It was hardly a prime slot – the 6-8am Saturday graveyard shift – but he accepted with enthusiasm and set his alarm early every weekend for months to broadcast his sets.

His next pirate stint was on Origin FM, which he held down for four years and in that time began to release music under the name Dangerous, with records arriving through outlets such as Mickey Finns’ Urban Takeover label and his own Xplicit Sound. But while studying Music Technology at university he began to fall out of love with the d’n’b scene, finding the move towards jump-up sounds to be at odds with the rawness and darkness of the music he fell in love with.

Musically disillusioned after graduating, he decided to spend the summer in Ibiza and it was there that he was introduced to techno. Dax was blown away by the spectacle of the clubs and the new music he was hearing, describing his response to Stray Landings as “this music is like drum 'n' bass but slower, I love it!” He returned to producing invigorated with a new direction to follow, yet he didn’t completely forego his roots and regularly works old breaks and the classic amen sound into his techno exploits, making for some of the most high-octane records going.

Dax J’s contribution to the genre since has been massive, co-founding the EarToGround label and going solo with his Monnom Black imprint, curating and contributing to a stacked release schedule that never falters in quality. His work ethic is so strong that he even sets up a micro studio on planes on the way to gigs.

2015 saw the release of debut full-length ‘Shade Of Black’ which was awarded Album of the Month in Mixmag and showcased an artist with an assured vision and uncompromising attitude. It’s a mindset that he carries over to his DJ sets that are characterised by rigid rhythms and forays into pulsating acid. Check out his slamming In Session mix below for a prime example.”

Die ersten, zarten Schritte in Richtung elektronischer Musik legte LaRsiMoTo bereits in 2008 zurück, mit dem eher zufälligen Besuch einer PANOPTIKUM Veranstaltung in Kassel.

Nach diversen Teilnahmen an den STORM (Stammheim) Veranstaltungen hatte es Ihn im Jahr 2013 endgültig in die elektronische Szene verschlagen.

Im Jahr 2014 entwickelte sich dann langsam das Interesse eigene DJ Sets zu mixen und vor Publikum aufzutreten.

Nach kurzer Eingewöhnungszeit ging die Reise als DJ für Ihn los.
Es folgten ein paar private Gigs und die ersten zarten Versuche sein Können vor Publikum zu zeigen.

Als er dann den IKARUS-Festival Newcomer DJ-Contest 2015 mitgewann startete LaRsiMoTo den Anlauf auch in diversen Clubs seiner Region sich einen Namen zu machen.

Nach einigen Auftritten im Club "DAS ERSTE MAL" (Kassel), im Club "UNTEN" (Kassel), im Club "A.R.M" (Kassel), im Club "R19" (Berlin), dem "130BPM" (Kassel) und im KLANGKELLER FULDA hat er seine Fühler noch etwas weiter ausgestreckt.

Seit Oktober 2015 gehört er auch zur Crew der Berliner Labels Definizium Records.

Im August 2016 formierte er zusammen mit anderen DJs seiner Region die Gruppierung pure:TECHNO, welche jede Woche mit ihren Shows auf dem Webradio CLUBsoundz.fm zu hören ist.

His mix delivery is unlike anything we've heard from him before and is comprised of edits from his collection of 7''s, resurfaced Italo and minimal synth sounds from the 1980's.

At this years edition of Bucht der Träumer my dear buddy Vittjas Tief and me had the honour to play on saturday at Porto Loco from 20.30h to 23.00h, right into the sunset...and what marvellous time we had.
The l'acoustics speakers delivered all the audio power imaginable, while the sun was setting, the forest in the front, the lake in our backs and you ravers made it complete with giving so much of your (dancing) energy. Under that outstanding circumstances we played one of our best sets ever, no doubt.
We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! 
Keep the rave alive in all its colors, for all its powers!

yo meine erste aufnahme die ich auch wirklich veröffentliche mit meinen sackteuren neuen xdj's :D hat bisschen gedauert is da was kommt aber besser spät als nie. is ja auch nich so dass man da sich erstmal reinarbeiten muss oder so... aber schon okay. bin fleissig am üben :P der ein oder andere fehler schleicht sich trotzdem noch ein aber das is mir echt bums :D hoffe ihr habt spaß mit dem teil, und teilts auch ganz ganz ganz oft :) ansonsten wie immer als FREEDOWNLOAD und bis die tage <333

He started his career as an instrumentalist (guitar, piano) in Metal
and electro-/metal fusion bands, where he toured in Germany,
Austria, Switzerland, USA, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, United
Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, Turkey and played in
numerous clubs and festivals in Europe and USA, such as Palladium/
NewYork and Roskilde Festival/Denmark.
In parallel, he produced electronic music in different styles and
started Djing.
At the moment he directs his focus of the harder techno , because he
believes that this is the most consistent and innovative development
of electronic music.
Meanwhile he has established in the global Techno-Scene and 28!
beatport top 100 placements (Hardtechno/Hardcore) in the year
2016/17 speak a clear language.
