Starting off his career producing House and getting his first release with @cocadewchill SMBG always had a strong tedency with producing techno and went on to have releases with Irish collective @acollectivemusic and then an EP with @tacrecords before having a single and most recently another EP with @user-327163724 (Industrial Techno United )and a single with @filth-inc-official with all this coming in 2020.

Express Selects 004 - SMBG

Annnnd here we go, the first episode of our podcast series.

First up we have heavy hitter Tipperary man Keenan. Keenan has been blowing Limerick up a storm with residency with @touchoftechno and also being a co-founder of @wagwan_limerick .

This mix focuses on the hard techno genre that is ever so dominant in the Irish underground scene, consisting of tracks from Irish producers that is sure to get your weekend off on a right one.

Express Selects 001 - KEENAN

Wexford native SYMØNE(@symonekatus) began her journey into the industry in 2018 after a long time day dreaming about it and hasn’t looked back since. Crediting her households diverse music tastes as a youth she draws her repertoire from the old school rave scene, defaulting to trance and acid while also peppering in new age raw, melodic and minimal techno. This mixed spectrum of musical influence paired with an open mind and fierce curiosity translates seamlessly into her sets, where she picks apart and creates an infectious fusion of her favourite pieces of each subgenre.
Describing her sound as high energy with a dark yet feel-good vibe, Symone’s captivating & dynamic sets allow audiences to get lost in the beauty of heavy bass lines.
The last year has seen Symone cement her name in the Irish music scene supporting artists such as 999999999, Matador, Dense & Pika, Rebuke and more in venues across the country. Ever evolving and having set the bar high for her work ethic, she continues to dedicate herself to the craft.

Express Selects 002 - SYMØNE

Next up we have Galway’s own and one half of d2al, Gareth Laheen aka Gerkin @user-827632285. Over the past 2 years he has taken Galway by storm and has run numerous events around the city in venues such as The Cellar, Fibbers, The Loft and the old Der Kesselraum in Carbon. He has supported a host of emerging Irish talent including the likes of Meadbh O Connor, Efa O Neill and Sonia.

Express Selects 003 - GERKIN

Episode 5 we have KIRK @afik-2. This mix features a few tasty unreleased tracks from KIRK so keep your eyes peeled for when these bangers get released and also features a few Irish producers and household names.

For those of you who may not know who this man is you are certainly going to hear more of his name in the future having already gotten the attention of Ireland's own Rebuke. Strap in for some solid Techno

"I started off making crappy beats on my laptop a few years back, but when I was old enough to go to festivals and raves the music and atmosphere blew my mind which inspired me to get involved in the underground scene. My dream was then to play my own productions out to a crowd and see people go mad to my music. 2019 was the year a lot of my music started to take off, being played at festivals across Ireland. This year I have had tracks signed to labels such as Techno City, a quickly rising techno label based here at home. I've had recent support from Rebuke, opening his Rebuke ravers club set with an unreleased track of mine ''Tomorrow starts without me''. " - KIRK

Episode 006 we are in for a treat as we host a melodic and progressive mix from Dylan Moore.

Dyl has such a unique style that just grabs your attention from the get go and has built a reputable name for himself here in Ireland. Dyl went on to set up his own collective called Subversive that many of you know and his collective has being also making a name for itself as it shaped how parties were being run outside the big cities. 

We are delighted to have Dyl on and we are in awe of this mix.

Episode 7 we are delighted to host Jayne Veronica who is certainly on the rise at the minute with her music career

Jayne is a Female Irish DJ hoping to attract listeners attention by her perplexing use of some acid and trance taste, combined with the wide use of energetic and solid heavy techno beats. 
Jayne is new on the techno scene the last couple of months, expanding her guest mix selection and live streams, quickly growing a fan base. In the next few months expect to hear more of her with events, gigs and plenty more mixes to come!

Express Selects 007 - Jayne Veronica

David Bohan aka Riipley is a producer and DJ hailing from Longford, Ireland. He has a production style which meshes together elements of Techno, Trance, Pprogressive and Ambient music and his sets can vary between hard hitting techno to softer more reflective genres. His main inspirations are artists such as Jon Hopkins/ Max Cooper/ Daniel Avery/ Dax J/ Paula Temple and Rebekah. David has supported artists such as SLV and Endlec.

David also Co-Runs an event management business and record label called Platform Dublin which has released several Eps from irish artists this year and continues to expand within the irish scene with lots of exciting things planned for 2021.

Episode 008 we're delighted to host RAMKKA, just off the back of his Sirene EP that he released on NOMAD. 

Jamie Brennan aka Ramkka is a DJ and Producer from Carlow that has been fascinated with techno since he was a teenager. His love for the genre developed after seeing Dave Clarke many years ago and he has been DJing ever since. His brand of techno is dark, hypnotic and driving and he states DJs like Oscar Mulero, Lewis Fautzi and Bas Mooy as his inspirations.

Express Selects 008 - RAMKKA

Dublin based Industrial Techno DJ, who, derived from an early love for house music has grown into the darker elements of the industry, curating his sound from a blend of eerie vocals, energetic breaks and sharp, heavy techno, often evoking a lot of emotion through his sets.

His mix flow is under strong influence from the Berlin & Parisian underground, penetrating soft melodic synth patterns through harsh, steel clashing kick drums, taking influence from artists such as Tim Tama, Parallx, Randomer & WNDRLST.

James shows no signs of slowing down having recently made his mark on the Irish scene, with a stack of podcast releases and a number of Dublin shows under his belt. He has recently enrolled at BIFE's DJ Techniques & Music Production course to be guided by some of the brightest names in the Irish electronic music community as well as having a number of other exciting projects in the works.

KAYCEE is a Dublin native DJ who has been making waves across the country in the last 12 months of her musical career. She is well known for leading her dance floor through a journey of high energy sounds, combining her oldskool style with modern day electronic music. She is co-founder of Triage Promotions, a Dublin-based collective which gives new Djs and producers a platform to share their unique styles. KAYCEE has established a name for herself by hitting the scene hard over recent months with a number of shows under her belt across Ireland, with her main events being in Dublin, Waterford, Sligo, Louth, Wicklow and Wexford and Kildare.

KAYCEE is renowned for clashing her oldskool taste with modern day Electronic Music usually playing a wide range of multi and sub genres in her high energy sets. Ranging from Disco, Progressive, Italo, Indie, House, Garage, Hard house, Breaks, Jungle, Electro, Techno, GhettoTech and Trance.

KAYCEE has played along side major names including, @s_p_e_c_i_a_l_r_e_q_u_e_s_t, Stephanie Sykes, Holly Lester, Eve, @yasmin_gardezi , @sarahmo0ney , @jennygreene , @georgefeelydj , Adult Store and Secondcity. She is no stranger to Dublin City, having played in all the major club venues, including The Turks Head ,39/40, The Button Factory, WigWam, Tramline, Wah Wah ,Berlin Bar The Sound House Tengu ,Twenty Two and regularly being booked to play at Dublin’s biggest student night, Konspiracy in The Academy. Kaycee has played Irish Festivals such BD Day Of The Dead in Glendalough to a packed out stage called, The Chapel, hosted by Paradox Events where she played an electric mix ranging from Disco to Hardhouse and finishing on some hard hitting Techno and Breaks. She also played at the one day festival, Good Vibes Day last August.

With a number of headline shows already under her belt, in venues such as Mood, Drogheda and Turks Head and Encore Naas the future is looking bright for this Blanchardstown Disc Jockey.

Express Selects 010 - KAYCEE

It’s been coming, Episode 11 we have founding member of Express, Fíachra. 

Galway native FÍACHRA started producing techno and mixing tracks in his bedroom in 2016 and since then has gone on the develop his style towards the harder, fast paced side of techno. His main influences come from Acid, Trance, Hardhouse, Hip Hop but finds inspiration in all forms of electronic and non electronic music.

FÍACHRA dropped his debut EP on May 25th titled '1998', which has been released on Dublin record label - 'Platform'. 

With a few more releases lined up for the coming future that we are certainly looking forward to Fíachra’s style will certainly grab your attention.

Express Selects 011 - FÍACHRA

Hailing from Kerry FLÆN is well known for his dark and industrial techno sounds through both his productions and DJ sets.

FLÆN has been djing/producing the past 3 years and has created a unique sound using both hardware and software in his productions. Having played in big Irish Venues such as The Cellar, The Loft and playing at Trax festival in Cork last year aswell as playing alongside some big Irish names such as Tommy Holohan, Cailin, Sunil Sharpe and Jamie Behan.

The past 2 years have been very big for FLÆN having had releases on major labels such as Gobsmacked Records, Falsive Records, Occult Rhythms, Tetreadre Records, Platfom etc, and seeing the likes of DAX J, Rebekah, Brecc, Parallx, Patrick DSP, Kobosil, Kozlov supporting and playing out his tracks in various venues around the world. We expect 2021 to be another great year musicwise for FLÆN

Next up we have KINZY, who is a 19 year old dj and producer with a very oldskool style of music from speed garage to 90s techno classics to underground bass. he completed a 1 year dj course and is currently studying music production in bray institute of further education under the guidance of some of the most experienced names in the industry

Dean Kelly is an Irish, electronic music producer based out of Athlone, Ireland. His style varies as he likes to experiment with different sounds and genres primarily focusing on melodic house & techno as Two Many Spoons while also dabbling with a raw Techno sound under his newly curated alias Seth Row. 

Since 2018 Dean has released tracks with labels such as Trippy Code, Trip & Acid, Take My Space & has featured on channels such as Art of Minimal Techno, Moskalus & Osk. He now runs his own channel, 'A Collective' set up by himself & co-founders - Simon Healion, Kyle Moran, Diarmaid Hanley & David Shortt.

Express Selects 020 - Two Many Spoons

Luciid (Luke Pollock) is a DJ/Producer who began in the quiet corners in the north of Ireland. His future-facing sound inspired but the foundations of techno pioneers is crafted perfectly with modern big-room techno. Luke brings a set that is fresh but distinctly recognisable. The alias ‘Luciid’ was curated in February 2018 as an outlet for creative ideas that varied anywhere between ambient & acid. 

Through persistent work and the ever-growing interest in underground music in Ireland, Luciid began to evolve his sound from generic tech-house to wall-shaking heavy techno. After a string of independent releases, and a 7-track EP with Sleepless Recordings, his unreleased material has began to catch the attention of renowned labels including Autektone Records and Kneaded Pain. 

With a newly discovered style, Luciid’s sound is guaranteed to lure you onto the dance floor and bring you on a journey through the heavy drops & mind-bending melodies of his sets.

Dj & Producer from Dublin with a taste for the darker side of things combining elements of EBM and Techno in both his dj sets and productions, taking influence from the likes of Slam, Inhalt Der Nacht, Cleric, Surgeon and more.

Duvz has put a lot of time into crafting out his own unique sound, having completed courses with Doug Cooney in Real Sound Ireland, The Sound Training College & Will Kinsella's Elevator Program, and winning the Soma Records x Splice Producer Challenge in 2019, with his original track "Enough". 

Having already played support to acts such as Hybrasil, Moduse, Dj Deece, Bowsie and Felix da Housecat in venues such as Earth Nightclub Drogheda, The Sound House, The Wright Venue and Flame Festival, as well as having his own radio shows on Phever.ie and HouseTech Radio, Duvz began running his own events under his Platform Dublin brand in late 2019, hosting people such as SLV (DE), Endlec & Ôneyra to date with plenty more in the pipeline.

Kriminal Records Head Honcho & Subjective Series Resident Deano is an Irish DJ/Producer based in one of Ireland’s most popular cities, Waterford and is a resident with the Subjective Series Collective.
Deano fell in love with the scene at the age of 20 after his first encounter with the rave scene. Falling in love with fast paced, hard hitting techno. This sound combined with elements of old school techno & ghetto he tries to implement across to his listeners.
Releases on Moskalus & also 3 EPS on HATE LAB.

Supporting the likes of Jamie Behan, Maedbh O’Connor, Shampain and Doug Cooney.

Express Selects 018 - DEANO

Dónal Sharpson is a Dublin based producer, DJ and label boss of ‘Choki Biki’ records. Sharpson has over 13 years experience when it comes to DJing and producing. His music has been released on the likes of Claude VonStroke's Label Dirtybird, Riva Starr’s Snatch! Records, Reboot Records, and many more.

With influences from 90's club culture, the ‘Sharpson’ project concentrates on quality rave music and is all about supplying dance-floor fillers. Sharpson plays a variety of House, Techno, Breaks, Acid and Drum & Bass. 

Starting off DJing at local house parties at the young age of 14, Sharpson has continued his DJing career til present and has performed in venues and festivals across Europe such as the 02 ABC in Glasgow, Storm Club in Prague, The Masked Ball in Cornwall, Zante Festival in Greece and the Aria Complex in Malta and Snowbombing (Planet Snowbombing livestream) in Austria, just to name a few.  

His infamous sets at the 'Granny's Gaff' stage in Electric Picnic, have become a 'must' on every festival goers list. Sharpson’s on-stage presence has been compared to as a 'Mad Lad'. Expect him to be mixing with the decks upside-down, blindfolded or stage-diving and MCing with a microphone, a Sharpson set is guaranteed to get people on their feet. 

Sharpson also produces for a number of projects including for Hip-Hop duos Wax White and 5th Element. He also performs live as ‘Double Screen’, Sharpson’s first musical project, an electronic band that caters to fans of Electronica and Deep House.
